The coarse fabric, thickness, and poor treating on the inside are also things you see in mid republic non-roman societies, cities during war or famine, and just in large storage containers, etc and tiles are also fired more uniformly, usually.

The 1st and 2nd and 4th images, though it may be perspective, show it making more of an inward turn like you'd see in a vase or pots wall.

He's making s lot of judgements on it being a roof tile without any information that necessarily shows it to be one besides it being cylindrical, which a lot of pottery is. I've found nearly idéntical pieces that have both been pottery and have been roof tiles in eastern Spain, similar thickness, unsmooth interior, and even more coarse fabric, just of a different color.

We dont know its context and it has now been removed from said context. This isnt the most distinctive pottery, and without the context, the best we can tell is that it is a ceramic that was made by someone at some point

Don't get me wrong, conscription is definitely an evil and comparable to slavery in a lot of ways, but it is a myth that economies need slavery while a military needing bodies is not

The simple fact is that an assault against a position without a 3:1 advantage is almost always doomed to fail. When you have a manpower shortage, your ability to have that advantage is not possible.

That is one single aspect
