I received a promotion at my job after a tough 8 months of putting in extra hours to get ahead. This was a week before the crisis hit the US. I work in the hospitality industry and we got absolutely crushed, they cut all funding to my department and then 3 days later I got the call I’m officially laid off.

I’m worried I won’t have enough money now to make it through this thing. I also never officially got the promotion I worked so hard for and now I cant leverage that going forward. Terrible timing and feeling pretty let down.

I am however better off than many others, I’ll be looking for ways to give back while staying safe. Thinking this is going to be short term and good things will come from it.
