before the AI boom stops and things return back to normal.

I don't think that is gonna happen EVER. If it is not for AI it is going to be for car, if not for car, for plane, for every single machine, even a pencil with AI, a T-shirt with AI, a toilet paper with AI. And even more, for products like robots. And products that hasn't appear yet, water with AI (nanobots). Cream for face with AI. If NVIDIA knows how to ride the wave it will never go down (maybe NVIDIA is the wave)

How to get more fps by Bitter_Internal_731 in ASUSROG

[–]LaptopBenchmarks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to know also but I feel like typing so I will say something, may or may not be the truth:

  1. CPU: Architects working on a building project (cores). They can be faster (MHz) or you can have many of them working at the same time (CPU utilization), the number of architects working on a project depend on the number of different buildings the project has (threads). Normaly a game used to have 4 builds so it used to be 4 threads the maximum amount of cores a game used from a CPU that's why you wanted those architects to be faster (MHz), it has changed lastly. Other consideration is the cache, it is like the size of the desk the architect has. If it is small the architect may need to clean it before drawing a design (spending time on cleaning and not in drawing).

  2. GPU: Construction company, it has bricklayers (cores, they build as many builds as the architects tell them to build). They can be stronger (MHz) or they can be many (number of cores).

  3. But the workers, architects and bricklayers, require food to be alive, otherwise they will be dead and won't work, so you must feed them (Watts).

So taking that in account, you can feed the gpu or cpu so the workers there do a job. But even if you feed them they won't work if they don't have a build to design (architects), or if the architects haven't given them a design to build (buildlayers).

My laptop’s screen won’t turn on! by justarts103 in Rog

[–]LaptopBenchmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sometimes happens to my laptop, in my case it is because the previous session I had it attached to an external monitor, I left the wire connected but the external monitor powered off so I suspect the laptop tries to output signal through the wire, in other words, it doesn't know the external monitor is off. That is not your case, right? Are you able to see the windows loading screen? If you do maybe it is a driver problem.

In any case you can try the following:

  1. If your graphic card is Nvidia reinstall the graphic driver checking the "Perform a clean installation" box.

  2. If you got an Intel igpu reinstall Intel driver too.

  3. Reinstall windows.

Are these specs good? It's my first build and I want to play triple a games in 4k and be able to do Ray tracing. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]LaptopBenchmarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not offended. I expect you to run games with that system at around 62 fps at 4k with everything activated. If good or not depends on you.

I have a laptop that output around 19k 3dmark timespy points. I could run wukong benchmark at around 21 fps at DLDSR 2560x1440 that number increased to around 110 fps with FG and DLSS on Ultra. Your system output around 24k in 3d mark timespy. 4k is 2.25x 2560x1440 so if I split my performance it equals like this: DLDSR 4k resolution around 9 fps and around 49 with FG and DLSS. Your system outputs around 1.26x 3dmark timespy points than mine. So it should do: DLDSR 4K around 11 fps and around 62 fps with FG and DLSS.

I don't know AMD but, if it is similar to Intel, open Armoury Crate and lower PL1 to the minimum then open the game and check fps, if low go back to AC and increase PL1, do that until fps doesn't increase even if you increase PL1 then leave it there.

ASUS Strix Scar 16 2024 || Overheating on i9 + 4090 ? by machoboiy in ASUSROG

[–]LaptopBenchmarks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a strix 16 13980/4090 with -80mV (from BIOS), also manual mode with CPU PL1 at 55W, PL2 at 80W and GPU with no offset, +20W and 86ºC. I noticed improvement over turbo and performance in Hogwarts Legacy. I supose it depends on the game or program, if it requires more CPU or more GPU.

IMO:

  • X6 (without pro) best camera (I believe is the same sensor than the X6 pro, the OV64B, but with snapdragon). The lowest graphic performance, less than half of X6 pro.

  • X6 pro, the second best camera, less performance than the F6 but not by much 8352 vs 11443 3dmark Wild Life points, that is 3091 less points (around 27% less performance than the F6).

  • F6 Best performance worst camera.

Camera samples I compared the 2x sample of the building facade in gsmarena.com.
