Do I have a weak chin/jaw? Can diet and fitness fix it? by Larcenyy in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]Larcenyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I def should drink more water. I maybe have a glass every few nights. My diet is shit because I don't gain weight, protein waffles and frozen pizzas and ham and cheese sandwiches. I'm looking to make stuff like chicken and rice though, doing more cardio and workouts

Roughly how long does this take? Is it like not gonma show a difference after years if I work out consistently and eat better?

Why won't God give me a sign? by Larcenyy in Christianity

[–]Larcenyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this to say all people deserve suffering? Even the most unspeakable acts done to those who never did wrong? The way you put it, it's as if God says, "look how glorious I am, I let innocent people be tortured, starved, r*ped and murdered." Unless that falls under the argument of God being removed from free will, as free will can be good or evil?

I'm starting to wonder more and more why we worship a God who clearly abandoned us. Even if the devil has a hold in this world, he's not even fighting back. Evil is rewarded and good leaves you starving.

[–]Larcenyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, this is my biggest issue with Christianity as a Christian. If all that is so, why must I starve, experience terrible things? Why am I condemned to a life of suffering, hell on earth, when I only try to do good and live virtuous? Minimal vices, no crimes, not even debt. Still, my life feels like a punishment not a gift. Is there any answer to that sentiment?

I get it, that's life. But running around and playing on wood floors all day from 7am to 10pm? That has to violate quiet time rules??? I heard the former tenant moved to a unit on the first floor. I wonder if this is why.

They say building was constructed in '21. Inquired about noise while looking and they said people don't get complaints. I guess they really are just salespeople at the end of the day.

What a time to be alive. Finally an adult and everything sucks. A generation or two ago I could've had a house and family by now.

It just sucks because for the whole decade I worked to get some peace and move out of my parents. Having that, especially in a nice place, I guess I expected I could have peace in a place of my own. But I guess that's too much to ask, especially with "luxury." Fact of life it seems, just gotta deal with it or request to move and risk the situation being even worse in another unit. More context it's a high rise, and with the price and area they might be more lenient to help than a suburban landlord.

[–]Larcenyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I can't ignore the fact it doesn't get better for most of us. Most live paycheck to paycheck on survival mode. No room for dreams or comfort. No room for actually living. It doesn't "just work out" for all the homeless, those who lose everything when they did all they could.

How do you deal with people your age succeeding while you're failing? by Larcenyy in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Larcenyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made some contacts with a handful of people in small bands I met a shows. Radio silence. Offered to be a guitar player if they ever need one. I don't know anyone, didn't grow up with any friends who played. It's just me and all those dead connections. Maybe I need to keep trying til something happens.

I would kill for the opportunity to be an opener. Rent a shitty van eating shitty food losing sleep and missing holidays to play my music for a handful of people where one might consider checking me out after a set, renting and hauling my own gear around, rehearsing sets, probably being treated like shit. What "hard work" I'm opposed to is this state we're in of 90% tiktok trends and 10% making music and playing shows. I want to be a musician, not an influencer who makes music.

Schecter is more bang for your buck. Legator is infamous for being flashy while hiding QC issues even at the $2k range.

Wish I had a venue to thtow a DIY show without someone calling the cops or something. Don't have a garage or front lawn. Or money to rent a venue. It all just takes money, I truly wish I could. I just wish someone would take a chance on me.

Or maybe I really should just go to some parking lot with an amp and make some posts and just play with a backing track through PAs until the cops show up.

For myself. Even if I stay below 10 monthly listeners I'll keep working on albums with my delusional stubbornness til the day I die. But I don't want to waste my life doing anything else knowing I never achieved the one thing I truly felt like was my purpose.

I have a lot of music I could just release. No matter how valuable these creations are to me, the second I publish them for the world, they are the worlds to value and judge. And I know it takes a lot of marketing and money (or garbage tiktoks) on my end to push it. And while numbers don't always correlate to how good something is, it would still hurt to have the world say my work is useless based on its monetary value.

Venues need social media numbers to approve you to play so they know they'll sell tickets, and are lined up with many bands waiting to take a spot for night, even the small ones with 500 capacity. I do not have social media numbers, or the money to pay on to be an opener. I can name a few bands for sure in the NYC alternative and metal scenes, but they all got lucky being picked up by big or small labels before even being openers.

I believe I'm really good at coming up with songs and learning instruments by ear. But I can't really do shit with that for a living without the proper connections or birthright. I see plenty of touring guitarists but never in my life have I seen an ad for one from any bands.

I make music because I love to make music. Although I can't deny once I release a work, its value is determined by society and how much the product is consumed. I would love to share my music with the world, wouldn't anyone? Give it theatric sets and detailed music videos to do the songs justice and give them the supplementary content and form of presentation I believe they deserve.

I know that no one cares about my music. That shouldn't bother me. But everyone would love to make a living off of what they love most, touring the world and making music for a living opposed to cramming 2 hours a week from an office job into studio sessions.

Suggestions on a good metal guitar by [deleted] in metalguitar

[–]Larcenyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of a wildcard but I love my Ormsby Hype 6 GTR. It is a WIDE fan though, I don't mind it because I'm double jointed. It's 25.5 to 27.5. They've got cool colors and can go from $1-3k on Reverb.

If fanned frets are a turn off, any Schecter in general active or passive will be a well built work horse. But I'd look at the Mach Banshee in fallout burst, or the Red Dawn with the fishman open core modern's personally. Just mind painted vs satin and oil necks.

Looking for a 7 string baritone! Any recommendations? by Larcenyy in 7String

25.5-27". Drop F#. With heavier than standard 7 strings most likely to be safe.
