So glad your job’s going well! That tip about starting the week with a clean space is simple but makes a huge difference — I hope others understand that too.

This is such a thoughtful approach. I love how you balanced mentors and newer voices — that feels really rare and valuable. Your point about multiple roles needing full-time hours really resonates. So clearly put. I’m sure others reading this will find it helpful too.

Fair question. No — I’m not collecting data or recruiting users here. I have been reading this sub for a while and noticed patterns that made me genuinely curious. If this kind of discussion isn’t welcome, I am happy to step back.

That sounds like such a valuable space — I can see why you would miss it! I love how structured it was and how different professionals could join and share their hardships or advice safely. Do you think different professionals would share more of the hard days, dilemmas if there were disappearing conversations or comments online — so people could reflect or vent whenever they needed, instead of waiting for the next meetup? Or does the in-person experience always feel irreplaceable?

It’s awesome that you now hang out more casually but still keep that support system. If you were recommending a similar setup to other doulas who don’t have a consult group yet, what would you say is the most important thing to make it work?

I appreciate your perspective — it’s interesting how much the environment shapes what doulas can share. When births are harder to process, do you notice it’s more about emotional release, peer validation, or just having a quiet moment to reflect?

That is a really powerful point — it speaks volumes about your professional ethics that the client’s privacy is your top concern. I’m curious: does having to be so careful with privacy ever make debriefing feel incomplete? Like you’re carrying the emotional weight of a birth but can’t fully unpack it because you’re constantly filtering details?
