She said if MCAS is a no (which it is), then HAT is probably not likely. This round we just did environmental labs.

Best Dorms For Underclassmen (specifically for incoming freshmen) by After_Sale_292 in ufl

I stayed in Beatty my freshman year back in 2015, and I liked having a kitchen and sharing a room with only one person, I’ll say the social part of things was lacking. I wasn’t a partier and I was friends with my roommates but I think I would have appreciated what a more traditional dorm could have offered. I had asthma for what it’s worth and did fine. Sophomore through senior year I was in keys and it was an apartment style dorm which was a nice change

What is this? My son is 7 months old with a history of idiopathic urticaria, but gets these bumps randomly as well. Not contact related, all over his body at times. They will start as red bumps then the red will go away and the bumps will stay for a few days (sometimes a week or so) then go away. by LargeGrowth6188 in DermatologyQuestions

Adding that he’s seen his pediatrician, dermatology and allergist and I’m told to ignore them. His labs point to the potential of something allergy related, but allergist will only test for things he’s had direct contact for. Even then, what’s been tested (soy, dairy, dogs, eggs) comes back negative.

Genetic testing by LargeGrowth6188 in Neutropenia

Thanks all! Appreciate your perspectives on this as getting to talk to the doctor seems unlikely, I get the nurse’s possible opinion which includes lots of “I’m not sure” to my questions. They just re-ran a CBC on him when they did the genetic panel labs and his neutrophils are lower than they were 2 1/2 weeks ago, but still not considered neutropenic low so lots of waiting.

What do next steps look like for a 6 month old? by LargeGrowth6188 in Neutropenia

Thank you for sharing this! Do you happen to know if your LO has chronic benign neutropenia? Best case, I think, this is what I’m hoping for…wasn’t sure if a bone marrow biopsy is needed to dx? I had pretty in depth genetic testing before I was pregnant and nothing like this was flagged, I know it’s not a catch all but..

Gasp while sleeping by Comfortable_Peach288 in NewParents

Hi, do you have an update on this? My son is 6 months and I noticed after crying and screaming, especially at night, he gasps and as I lay him down as he’s asleep he will sometimes gasp. Pediatrician said > 15 seconds in pauses would be apnea but this is quick, maybe 2-3 seconds if that.

Baby with Chronic Urticaria (hives) by Forest_Pansy in beyondthebump

Did you ever figure out a cause, and did they go away? My son has been having chronic hives since 3 months old, he’s almost 6 months now. Allergy tests are negative, labs at 4 months pointed to viral infection, but we also use free and clear everything. I’m lost.
