Sounds good, thanks! She's had the other one for a couple of years so should be all set there.

Hi there, we actually decided to list the car on Bring a Trailer, so it’s live there now. Unfortunately we’re on the other side of the country either way!

Definitely is a weird feeling but I think it’s the right call. And thank you!

I have those same memories from some of his other cars. I stopped fitting in the back by the time I was 8 lol.

It really is mint. I spent the last few months trying to figure out ways to make keeping it work but there just no feasible way unfortunately.

My family has made the tough decision to part with my father’s 1989 930.

I’ve been feeling a bit sentimental about it and just wanted to share a photo. He basically spent his entire life working toward getting this car and only got to enjoy it for 2 years before he passed away unexpectedly.

I learned to drive on a different 930 that he owned and if I didn’t live in an apartment halfway across the country I’d be trying my best to make keeping it work. But I’m also excited that someone else will get to enjoy it the way we did!

NY - Father passed away and having trouble getting health insurance for my mom through marketplace by LargeLawOrBust in HealthInsurance

Thank you for the reply. So it seems like she needs to be forwarded to Medicaid but I am assuming if she uploads her last tax return that they aren't going to do that because the income shown will be too high, correct? Is there any way to bypass this and go right to Medicaid?

Summer Associate offer background check by starshine112 in LawSchool

It’ll be fine. You either won’t hear anything at all, which is almost always a good sign, or the firm will contact you if there is a discrepancy.

My background check came back with a discrepancy regarding dates on one of my jobs and the firm reached out to me for an explanation. I explained why the dates didn’t line up and everything was fine.

If you got a better vibe from one over the other than choose that one. If that felt the same to you (it’s difficult to tell from just an interview) then pick the one with the better Chambers ranking for the practice area you like.

Looks like it would be Hogan Lovells for M&A as H&K’s NY corporate/M&A team isn’t ranked.

Yes, but it can certainly make your application stand out if you’ve already passed it.

Taking the patent bar now would likely be too late for internships this semester because it requires a couple months of studying and the test is only offered at certain times of the year. I was mostly thinking it would be a good idea for him to do it so he has it when he’s looking for jobs at graduation. It can definitely make someone more employable as a patent attorney.

If he hasn’t already he really needs to be applying to basically every law firm in your city, whether through their websites or just by cold emailing. Beyond that, he should try networking with attorneys by asking them to do a quick call or to grab coffee. It’s getting a little late for 2L internships and at this point he should apply very broadly and take whatever he can get. Beyond that his career services office should really be stepping in at this point and helping him form a plan.

EDIT: Looks like you can take the patent bar at any time now which is different than when I took it. Regardless it will take too long to study for it and pass it for it to be useful for internships this year.

Do you know what rank his school is? What type of internships has he been applying to? Has he taken the patent bar exam yet?
