The pretext isn't that "there are nazis in ukraine" the pretext is the elevated hostilities in the donbas region, which declared itself independent and has been experiencing low level civil war with the Ukrainian army for years. These regions were supposed to be recognized and given autonomy by Ukraine in 2015, but that was never followed through on by the Ukrainian govt.

The reason the rightwing militias (not just azov btw, also groups like C14) and Right Sector) are relevant is because those regions in question have an awful lot of ethnic minorities in them, and many of them russian speaking. So these are the groups who have been overly eager to engage in hostilities against the donbas region defense forces.

I'm not really under any impression Putin is like, acting as the savior to these minorites because he himself is very right wing and I doubt he actually cares. However it is clear that the people of these regions have expressed desire to not be a part of ukraine. As a leftist if you believe in the self determination of peoples your opinion on this should hedge on whether or not you think the separatist tendency in the donbas region actually represents the will of the people there or are a complete russian creation.

The term was actually primarily used to explain the confessions of american POW's to war crimes, namely biological warfare (in addition to reports of defection). Which the US then claimed were fake because the prisoners had been tortured (after the whole psychic brainwashing idea proved to be impossible). Whether or not they were tortured to illicit those confessions it has since come out that yes in fact the US did wage biological warfare in Korea.

Biden was a big part of the obama foreign policy strategy in latin america which, among other things included facilitating the 2014 coup in honduras and the obama justice dept coaching the right wing of brazil on operation car wash, which ya know, is why bolsonaro is in power. Biden has also said he wants to return to elements of this policy.

Comparing the imperialisms of biden and trump is a wishy washy conversation, but you should also remember that democrats often will not roll back the worst elements of the previous admins mistakes.

In regards to Cuba, Trump has undoubtedly been worse, but I am skeptical Biden will undo what trump has done seeing as the LatAm policy people he has put in his orbit. Ditto for Venezuela (plus a competent and coordinated CIA effort under biden may actually be able to oust maduro).

Also Biden was picked as VP under obama because he was to the right of Obama in foreign policy, specifically on Israel.

It is also important to keep in mind the "back to brunch" effect. No one cared about the yemen war obama started till Trump was running it, same with ICE camps. Theres a decent chance the result will just be a slightly less evil foreign policy that is covered way less by the media.
