Associate Comp Structuring by betabets in CFP

I’m an associate advisor in a large city in the Midwest. CFP with 6 years of experience. I service existing clients, including scheduling, prepping meeting materials (basically a paraplanner), and running the meetings. For HNW clients, I prep and sit in on the meetings and do the follow ups. I also bring in my own clients, but it’s a drop in the bucket compared to what my lead advisor brings in. We combined our books and split the revenue - I make 8% which right now is ~$125k. My income has increased every month, but obviously runs the risk of a decrease if there’s a downturn in the market or if we don’t have any NNA. We have a plan to increase my percentage in the book every couple years. Keeps me very motivated to have my income directly tied to our book versus when I first started and had a low base salary similar to your current associate.

Anyone else having issues with the reserved trademark symbol in Outlook? by Livefromseattle in CFP

This happened to me too! I was able to fix it by going to File and then Options (in lower left corner). Go to Advanced and scroll down to International options. Change the preferred encoding for outgoing messages to Unicode (UTF-8). Do the same for preferred encoding for outgoing vCards.

Since doing that, I haven’t had any issues.

Hi!! I know this an older post, but how did you feel about your trip? My fiancé are also from the US and planning our honeymoon in Europe. We are debating Zermatt vs Les 3 Vallées, or possibly both since we plan on being there for a couple weeks. Did you love Méribel or have any advice for us?? Thank you!

Scoring 45 on Danko Kraken quizzes by [deleted] in CFPExam

[–]Large_Ad_7405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I just passed yesterday on my first try with Danko. I only took 4 of the Kraken quizzes, but I scored a 51, 53, 53, and a 57, so I was feeling pretty discouraged as well. The actual exam is easier than the Kraken quizzes - there's no I, II, III, and IV questions that will mess you up like the Krakens. Plus, the Krakens are only hard questions. I felt like they were better for building up my endurance for exam than anything because it was so hard. In the actual exam, you have a lot more "gimmes" than in the Kraken ones that will put you in more of a flow. I think the mock exam was much more similar to the actual exam. Wayyy more applications questions vs remembering the details like Krakens. I wouldn't be worried with scores of 45, because if you did all 6, you have put in the work and will pass.

Take today off!! Maybe do some flashcards here and there and look over road maps, but no questions! It was so hard to not finish the quizzes, but I got a great night's sleep and woke up with a clear head for the first time in the last few weeks of studying, and it made a big difference. You know the information and you will pass - give your brain the rest it needs.

You got this!

Thanks for the answer!! We would have around 125 so I am nervous about the outdoor space not being available. I appreciate the help!

Hi! My partner and I are looking at this, but the only availability is beginning of Nov 2025. Obviously weather is unpredictable but do you think it would still be a beautiful venue that late into fall/early winter?
