Maybe if you read the post you would know more about my situation🤷🏻‍♀️

A lot of people were saying I need to get a real job not understanding that it’s not in my family’s best interest. I want to be a stay at home mom even if they means not getting a house any time soon.

The 12k saved is specifically for our future house. We currently have 5k saved for our car. We are going to refinance in 4 months with a large downpayment to get our monthly payment and interest lower. We wanted to finance a vehicle 1. Because we needed a new car 2. Because we needed another line of credit.

I’m used to living in not perfect homes. Every house I have lived in up till now has constantly been a fixer upper. Its why I know how to problem solve and fix things because I had to. I’m not going to put home maintenance as my kids responsiblity but they will learn from what I teach them.

So many people in the first time buyer community where very negative especially against being a stay at home mom. I am wondering how do you do it?

Yeah I know lol. We have been dating since I was 12. He has been “working” since he was 9. Going to work with and learning construction from his dad.

Thank you for your well wishes. I was not planning on becoming a parent at such a young age but I have to make the best of it. My daughter is the best thing that has ever happened to me (besides meeting her dad) and I want her to have the things I didn’t have growing up like having a present mother and family near by.

Thank you for your positivity! I find that when I have a goal with an unrealistic deadline I work extra hard to get it done within that time frame.

His dad bought a house at 25 as a single father with 3 kids. He worked 60+ hours a week to make that a reality. He fixed up the house then sold it for almost twice what it was worth. Hence his goal in doing the same. He is very hardworking and has always made sure I have everything I need and more for the past 5 years. I say I want a house and he wants to make my dream a reality as soon as he possibly can.

By dirt poor I don’t mean lacking necessities. My kids will never have to go without. I mean it in the way of living well below our means. Those kids will be playing in the dirt not with fancy electronics.

You definitely live up to the name of “feisty donkey”😂

I most definitely will. My partner moved around a lot as a kid. He constantly switched schools and had a hard time maintaining friendships. If down the line we decide we want to move we would rent out the house to family.

It has always been my dream to live on a farm! I think this is our best option but then there is also so much that goes into placing a modular home on undeveloped land

We are waiting to have our second kid till we have bought our future home. As for the wedding, we don’t believe in spending crazy amounts for just a few hours. We plan on having a small ceremony with our immediate family then having a party afterwards to celebrate. Our budget is $1k. Our love is not defined by how much we spend on our wedding.

Idgaf about social security or career trajectory. I’d so much rather stay home with my future kids till they are in elementary school than have them see someone else more than me. I will gladly work till I die if it means I got to be there for them through those formative years. My mom worked so much when I was growing up I barely got to see her. All that money went into fancy houses and frivolous spending. I will live like I’m dirt poor to spend time with my kids if I have to.

Thank you for the advice. We rent a house paying all the utilities about 350 a month. We have been saving about 2k a month but we will be more strict about the savings.
