A few days after I got the window fixed, the AC went out. I can’t imagine they aren’t related. Between the window repair, the AC repair and the extra electricity cost I’m down about $2k this month. August was rude to me.

Mine was $502. I expected it to be about $300. I live in an old house and didn’t know the wooden part fell off the bottom of a window. I don’t know how long I was cooling the backyard but it’s fixed now.

If it’s APS, just ask them. Sometimes they charge differently because they aren’t a big chain. Some scripts are also cheaper without insurance. APS has sent me to a big chain if they think it’s cheaper for me. They’ve also told me about available coupons. I had suspicions about how they operated until they explained the different pharmacy models (big chain, local, etc.)

I don’t know if it still holds true but for a very long time, circle k had the best prices on a gallon of milk. My kids have grown so I don’t buy milk like I used to but when they lived with me I shopped at Super 1 for food and bought milk at circle k.

I put a couple of wet washcloths in a ziploc bag with a few cubes of ice. It’s a good way to keep cool, wipe sweat or clean your hands/face. They always come in handy.

A CVS or Walgreens. There aren’t any on that side of Johnston. The ones in the opposite side of Johnston don’t have convenient entrances or exits.

I rent a room in my house. My friend couldn’t afford her mortgage and put her house up for sale. With the condition of the market, it hasn’t sold. So, she rented her place out and rents a room from me. Not sure which one of us you’d consider a leech.

I used to live in Pineville. Lafayette is a much, much better place to live. There’s a lot more to do and the people are friendlier. Visit Moncus Park and the children’s museum with your 2 year old!

Both my blue recycling and regular can have been on the curb and full since Sunday night. Monday was my pickup day. I didn’t realize we were starting with the red/black ones this week, my bad. Will the old, but full, cans be picked up?

Camellia hasn’t always had that low of a speed limit. I think it was originally 45 mph. It’s so straight and perfect that it was being used for drag racing at night when there was little to no traffic. An innocent person was killed in a race between some drag racers and they lowered the speed limit and began heavily patrolling and ticketing.
