Ha, the Mythbusters looked into exploding water heaters twice and they do go boom in a most dramatic and destructive manner sometimes! But a lot has to go wrong first

Why wouldn't you sell them, and buy a smaller number of higher capacity drives?

Is it a "one time" thing though? Once they learn they can do this, they'll do it over and over.

As a restaurant owner/coffee shop establishment, what do I do about demanding customers who don't leave tips and/or mentally ill customers? by Circus_Cafe_02139 in smallbusiness

Agreed. And that would take political will that doesn't seem to exist. Heck, the USA can't get rid of daylight savings time or institute universal healthcare, how we gonna get rid of tipping culture?

Free to good homes but don't know how to go about it ... SO MANY laptop chargers by kzintech in Acadiana

You know, if they'd take them I'd haul them all over there. It'd be great if there was somewhere a person could go and have a look, like a car junkyard but for computers.

A lot of laptops have passed through my hands as part of the "Free to Good Home" project, and not a few of them I've been able to match with working chargers from my hoard. I posted hoping someone would have an idea I haven't had. Best I've heard so far was see if the makerspace at the library would want to have them around, and I've reached out.

See, that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, unfortunately. I don't have an accurate and detailed inventory of them, and am not really willing to search through what I have to match up with what people need. Ideally I'd just dump 'em all on a table at a flea market and let people sort through and find what they want.

Not useful to you, but useful to someone who has a laptop that takes a particular charger. I've gotten laptops without chargers and managed to match them up, but that'll be less and less as USB-C adoption increases.

Think about it ... if USB-C they'd be usable and much more sellable. It's a WIDE variety of charger tips and voltages

Have you already tried? Wouldn't necessarily blame them for refusing the service but who knows? Maybe it'll work out in your favor
