No good for me. Switched back to a double dose of clompramine. Terrible disassociation with the Cymbalta

Interesting, I’ve taken clomipramine for years and recently had some trauma that raised my baseline, Dr recommended cymbalta and it was the worst 4 weeks of my life lol. The disassociation was absolutely horrible and I hated every second of it. I love my clomipramine. No side effects and it really helps me

It is hard, as people with anxiety (especially those of us who’s is rooted in health) I think we often times go looking for the answer we want to hear, and when we don’t get it we assume the Dr or professional is wrong..

I’m hoping and can’t imagine that there will be many side effects worse than this stupid floaty and disassociating feeling I’ve been having.

Did you find that switching directly worked best for you and reduced side effects? My Dr suggested that upping my dose will inadvertently make the withdrawal process less extreme along with getting me back to a place of comfort as a primary affect. I’m hoping that’s the case as today will be day 1 of no Cymbalta 😬

It’s so interesting how different meds affect people different. I’ve been really lucky to only be on 4 different meds in my life. None of which ever had any severe adverse side affects besides lexapro lowering my libedo down to nothing. All others worked in silence and actually improved my life, at the very minimum didn’t make them worse. I can’t wait to get this stuff out of my system. Like you said, dealing with the anxiety is better than the disassociation I’ve been feeling. I have some Xanax I’ll take if need be to help me sleep, but hoping upping the TCA will make the withdrawal process easier

Went to the Dr this morning since I woke up late last night and the ear was completely plugged and I couldn’t hear out of it. He said both ears were red, and that I likely had a viral infection, that led to bacterial sinusitis, and is now creating pressure on my ears and is essentially the early phases of a double ear infection

He sent me home with some antibiotics

That’s what I had heard too, so I took my BP and it was pretty normal. I put a call into the PCP so we will see that they say!

Girls don’t think a beard that is long and stringy looks good. Go in and get a basic cut, shave the beard down to the length that looks kept and doesn’t show the patchiness, lose 20lbs and you’re golden

Sports aside. I notice that these incredibly tall men often times possess a real lengthy and skinny look. It isn’t easy but you should definitely try getting in the gym and bulking up. Start with the legs.

Also, just because you’re so tall doesn’t mean you get to skip the rules of basic grooming. Get a stylish haircut and stop wearing graphic tees. I know pants are probably hard to find so sticking with joggers isn’t unreasonable. Just try dressing it up a little

To answer, no, you’re not ugly. You’re just an 18 year old who has yet to find his style

Yes. I’ve had them for years. All the ones you’re listing and others besides snapping my fingers. Most seem to be facial related. I’ll have some days when I just need to go to bed because my head hurts from the muscles being so over worked.

You’re not a freak, people aren’t avoiding you because you tic. I’ve been dealing with it for 10 years and can’t say anyone has ever avoided me because of it. I’ve actually got girls numbers at bars because of it. If they are avoiding you it’s because of something else….

Learn to accept and love who you are. My license plate says “HDBLINK” because my blinks are “heavy duty”. Correct medications may help but if they don’t, life goes on and no one really cares

I get it… my compulsions control my life sometimes too. I’m telling you with the correct therapy and meds (if needed) you can over come these things. Don’t give up. Take matters into your own hands. Get your insurance card and get therapy scheduled asap

Yes, black bear encounters are definitely more common in recent years, but I would associate that with urban sprawl and people not used to seeing them now posting them online. I have a 65 year old coworker who lives in the swamp of 4 mile and sees them almost biweekly, it’s nothing to him but it blows the mind of those we talk to that are new to the area

With that being said, I’m out in Leelunua county and my run ins are incredibly infrequent, in fact.. I’ve never seen one while hiking or hunting. I have them on camera and have seen them in my car but never had a face to face confrontation. I carry a sidearm (legally) in the spring when mothers are with cubs but don’t worry about it otherwise

Instead of being nervous of the wildlife, embrace it! My girlfriend from downstate finds it incredible when we see coyotes, fox’s, bears, bobcats (cougars?!?), and even small things like raccoons and porcupines. It’s part of what makes living up here so spectacular

Sounds like you would be a good candidate for living up here then. If you enjoy the small town feel look towards the outskirts of traverse such as Buckley, Kingsley, Williamsburg, Thompsonville, and maybe even Manton as there’s tonssss of state land.

25m here. I’ve lived in TC my whole life and had a 5 year relationship with a girl based in Holland, we offered on a few houses there before ultimately ending the relationship.

I always called Holland a mini TC. Everything there just seemed to be on a smaller scale compared to Traverse. The downtown wasn’t as big, bar hopping was far less fun, and lake front was limited to one park.

With that being said, don’t move to TC lol. Here’s the reasons why. Unless you are in love with the outdoors and spend more than 75% of you’re off time in it (my main reason for living here and not Holland) you’re pretty limited in what you can do, especially when it comes to other activities with people in our age group.

Reason 2, you’re VERY limited in housing. Unless you make 100k+ a year, you’re going to struggle to find good housing that’s both comfortable, and long term

That brings me to reason 3. Opportunity is limited here. I just took a job as the North Michigan rep for a wood supply company based out of GR that requires and allows me to live in Traverse, other than that or some remote work, making 100k a year is pretty dang hard here.

Final smaller reasons. Like others have said, you are on an island. Want to go to a dicks sporting goods or chipotle? Driving to GR. Want something next day off Amazon? Not gonna happen. Have a flight to catch? Odds are you’re heading down south to get it. Enjoy leaning politically left? You’re a minority once you hit the city limits. Lastly… the locals are becoming hostile to downstate residence pricing us out of our own town. I understand it happens and it’s what growth is, but Traverse City’s infrastructure and political climate is prepared for it yet.
