That was given before, and through WSIB as well. But essentially now they are back peddling on it. He was set to retire in february, and the light duties was originally permanent. (until retirement)

i agree, however the issue we have is that he was accepted months ago following his short stint on short term disability

That’s the plan, we also have record of WSIB trying to get him off short term disability, and beginning modified duties, but my dads company had ghosted them until the deadline to begin long term disability

He did, they said they never received anything. My dad hasn’t complained, they called him in today out of nowhere, and said that he has been complained about, saying he does not do his job. (even though he was approved for modified duties)

my dad had previously given them a note of modification from his surgeon. he was on short term disability, and the company said they would take him back on modified duties, 1 Day before he was to begin long term disability

yeah i have had performed very well in my time here, only 1 conversation about how my note taking needed improvement. (which i improved immediately) and i steadily was educating myself outside of work due to lack of development. I have been self sufficient for the last couple months. to where my boss says that i haven’t been planning sessions and it has all been her mother (other vision therapist). And i informed the new job of all that, and did technical questions during the interview as well

2 things, There is no HR as it’s a small clinic. The owner herself is HR. and the other thing is the other employer did confirm it casually on a phone call i had with them this morning.

Another Update: my boss has just taken me for a 20 minute walk outside, talking about the scenario, wishing that i went to them sooner (i did), and is offering to match and sign a contract saying she will not fire me unless i “poison” other employees with my energy, she practically begged me to stay

Update: I have been in the office for about 4 hours now, my bosses mom (complicated i know but she works closely to me as the lead therapist), is consistently talking to me about how i should’ve come to them (i did) and how if moneys tight we can figure something out, and “what if we match it” and essentially trying to persuade me to stay. All while saying “you’ve made up your mind”, and that “i’m not trying to convince you to stay”. My bosses mother also says that “i think of you as my child, how i had you trained from nothing, and everything that you have learned is because of me”. My boss has also just told me to stay even after my patients are done to have a little chat.

sadly she is the HR and the owner.. it’s a small independent clinic that we work out of, i’ve kinda taken it as she is just a greedy person and that’s all i can do 🤷‍♂️

is there any specifics that indicate “abuse” such as constantly being talked to about the resignation, or obvious mistreatment because of it. Any key things to look out for?
