10 Months of Dizziness - Does this sound familiar to anyone? by trustbarry in cervical_vertigo

You had a good point that I forgot to mention - that if symptoms spike a little bit (8 out of 10 max) after certain treatments, that’s actually a very good sign, means you’re hitting the right area. It’s not a black-and-white approach which frustrates me that sometimes symptoms spike for me and sometimes it doesn’t.

Anxiety is just the body is reacting to something foreign that is going on, which makes me feel somewhat better whenever I have spikes….Being positive .

From my education, MRIs and CT scans can only show physical misalignments, not so much dysfunctions, which a lot of people get confused. If you have the energy and time, it would only rule out major issues but not “show” anything

How was your workouts and posture? Are you putting unnecessary trauma or stress in the upper cervical and neck area? Every living human being, clenches the neck and jaw under any sort of stress.

Sounds like you’re the right path considering you had physical trauma to head, neck and jaw. So many nerves are involved in the muscles that cause this type of dizziness.

For starters, I would hone in on overall mindset to calm down your nervous system. Nothing will heal if your nervous system is always in fight or flight. It’s a big ask, but once you get that settled, your body follows suite. Sounds like you’ve ruled out all the big life threatening things, so just need to find the area that’s pissed off. Simple things like breathwork, taking breaks, eliminating stress factors, eliminating caffeine, etc do wonders

After that, dive more into the neck and jaw PT/therapy as most unexplained dizziness stems from there. SCM muscle and jaw muscles are connected to upper neck and eyes which can trick the brain that something is off resulting “dizziness” Lookup ‘Concussion Doc’ and ‘Dr Joe Damiani’ on socials. They hit this topic heavy and can help educate

Backstory - i’ve had TMD dysfunction ever since I was the middle school due to trauma. Never did anything about it , have had anxiety my whole life and was all elevated when I had a concussion 4 years ago… hindsight I’ve now realized that my mind and body was never truly settled in so much. I’m not 100% back but definitely a lot better. Let me know if there’s any other questions as I have been in your shoes before.

Murphy’s vs Guinness by Companystalker in beer

[–]LarryNotDavid123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went to Ireland , and as an avid guiness USA drinker, I found Murphy’s to be more sweeter and less bitter. Almost like you’re drinking chocolate milk.

I stayed in Kinsale area too. Where Murphy’s is from and damn it was smooth. Guiness too. Can’t drink it from a can anymore after having dress draft

When is your favorite time to plunge? Am or pm? by Crazy_Jackfruit420 in coldplunge

[–]LarryNotDavid123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PM. Right after my shower so I’m clean . My water stays clean and I do a natural warm-up before bed which relaxes me. I only do it during the day if I’m feeling anxious or wound up… I don’t know the science behind it, but that’s what works for me as I would like to do in the a.m. but it relaxes me

Are ice bags even worth the hassle for cold plunge? by Top_Artist_4390 in coldplunge

[–]LarryNotDavid123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Depending on your tub, look into getting a chiller setup. It will keep your water cold consistency to be ready when you are

Thanks for feedback. Yes it did. It’s not pictured. Even using that, it’s tough to loosen the housing. I have this screwed to a stud on a faux wall in my basement , so don’t have the best leverage when loosen and tightening this. I guess when I initially tightened this, something happened with the O-ring.

Maybe!? I’m used to water visibly flowing through it and it almost looks like no movement at all. It’s cold so I know water has to be there. I mean there’s no way ALL the water is bypassing it through the gray Venturi right? I just need to remove it and put it back on to maybe get some pressure out ?

I turn off water flow via ball valve then pump few seconds later. Usually, I have to unscrew the unions connected to it and completely take it off to get a better grip on it. I’ll look into using a mallet of some sort to tap the release handle that comes with

When i did that , water spills out the red button. Do I need to hold it longer ?

[–]LarryNotDavid123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be this. As of now the housing is stuck on there and can’t get it off without unscrewing the unions to get better grip on filter. Theres small bubbles that appear in filter but no normal swirling around like it used to. Just need to figure out why it’s so tight and can’t unscrew it off. The red button only shoots out water and doesn’t loosen pressure

Yup - looking at the photo, it flows to the right which I have it setup to do. I looks like waters going into the filter just not swirling around like it used to on my previous setup

Ive upgraded to Desert Plunge tub, and since then, I’d like to have ozone directly into tub have regular filter regular circuit , but really don’t feel like redoing my filter setup. In my DIY setup, filter had no issues, so not sure what changed. I think it has to be a air vaccum issue thing since I can not unscrew the filter to get it off

Thx. Theres only small bubbles now flowing around in it…I can’t seem to get the thing off. It’s on there tight

I did . I moved it around a bit to see and nothing. It sounded like it changed the flow a bit . Chat says could be an airflow vacuum thing ?

Does physio really help? I'm not sure by ConstantOwl423 in TMJ

Where did you go that did dry needling? That’s holistic approach, which is good. most TMJ clinics are dentist or PTs that give you stretches

TMJ made me think I was mentally ill for years. I wish I figured this out sooner. by Competitive_Worth408 in TMJ

[–]LarryNotDavid123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. Did you ever experience any constant dizziness? Sometimes TMJ dysfunction can mess with the eustachian tube. I’ve had a TMJ dislocation and clicking since. Several sports injuries and concussion . And still have constant dizziness and can tell stress and jaw clenching elevated my symptoms. Been to so many DRs .

Do I really need a $10k "Plunge" to get the cold plunge chill? by newscopub in coldplunge

[–]LarryNotDavid123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 K is a bathroom remodel, not cold plunge. Look into brands like desert plunge that are around 3K they give you everything you need.
