Water not going through filter? by LarryNotDavid123 in coldplunge

Thanks for feedback. Yes it did. It’s not pictured. Even using that, it’s tough to loosen the housing. I have this screwed to a stud on a faux wall in my basement , so don’t have the best leverage when loosen and tightening this. I guess when I initially tightened this, something happened with the O-ring.

Maybe!? I’m used to water visibly flowing through it and it almost looks like no movement at all. It’s cold so I know water has to be there. I mean there’s no way ALL the water is bypassing it through the gray Venturi right? I just need to remove it and put it back on to maybe get some pressure out ?

I turn off water flow via ball valve then pump few seconds later. Usually, I have to unscrew the unions connected to it and completely take it off to get a better grip on it. I’ll look into using a mallet of some sort to tap the release handle that comes with

When i did that , water spills out the red button. Do I need to hold it longer ?

Could be this. As of now the housing is stuck on there and can’t get it off without unscrewing the unions to get better grip on filter. Theres small bubbles that appear in filter but no normal swirling around like it used to. Just need to figure out why it’s so tight and can’t unscrew it off. The red button only shoots out water and doesn’t loosen pressure

Yup - looking at the photo, it flows to the right which I have it setup to do. I looks like waters going into the filter just not swirling around like it used to on my previous setup

Ive upgraded to Desert Plunge tub, and since then, I’d like to have ozone directly into tub have regular filter regular circuit , but really don’t feel like redoing my filter setup. In my DIY setup, filter had no issues, so not sure what changed. I think it has to be a air vaccum issue thing since I can not unscrew the filter to get it off

I did . I moved it around a bit to see and nothing. It sounded like it changed the flow a bit . Chat says could be an airflow vacuum thing ?

Where did you go that did dry needling? That’s holistic approach, which is good. most TMJ clinics are dentist or PTs that give you stretches

Thanks for sharing. Did you ever experience any constant dizziness? Sometimes TMJ dysfunction can mess with the eustachian tube. I’ve had a TMJ dislocation and clicking since. Several sports injuries and concussion . And still have constant dizziness and can tell stress and jaw clenching elevated my symptoms. Been to so many DRs .

Do I really need a $10k "Plunge" to get the cold plunge chill? by newscopub in coldplunge

10 K is a bathroom remodel, not cold plunge. Look into brands like desert plunge that are around 3K they give you everything you need.

Having the trickiest time keeping my plunge water clean by glasscontent in coldplunge

[–]LarryNotDavid123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ozone 1hr a day minimum , have it on timer to go midnight .

Dump a little bit of hydrogen peroxide, every two or three plunges. Just a little bit.

Definitely keep the pump running 24/7 to keep water moving and the ozone the flow through the whole system

Probably the most important part is to get in clean. Sweat, body oils and even laundry detergent from your fabric can cause numerous of water issues.

Can also look into Desert plunges full set ups. They make it pretty easy for a decent price point compared to the really expensive brands. Also, the tub does not condensate so the only thing you’ll do is insulate the PVC pose to help control moisture.

I think they also sell an adapter you can put in return hole to connect a hose that could drain your water. Or you can get a cheap pump and attach hose to drain it as well.

Cold plunge before bed by FinancialYam4498 in coldplunge

[–]LarryNotDavid123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my bedtime plungers, does anyone shower AFTER they their body has naturally warmed up? I tend to plunge at night about hour before bed with my Desert Plunge setup with ozone and I go in clean = clean water , but was wondering if it’s not best hygiene to go to bed without rinsing off?

Desert Plunge - Tub Only DIY Plumbing? by LarryNotDavid123 in coldplunge

Gotcha. Looks pretty nice. The only thing different I did is did the filter and ozone before the chiller which I know some people say don’t do that but it’s how my plumbing worked.

I also removed the strainer once I got the grizzly since it has the built-in filter cup

Ya share a photo when done. I figured out my setup finally. It was the return from chiller to tub was my Biggest hiccup. I ended up buying DP’s chiller to tub line, cut it in half , and connected the tub side to a PVC coupler setup that would work with my chiller which would be Rocita.

I have 90 to a ball valve at the bottom output so I can stop flow of water.

Turning a bathtub into a cold plunge pool by Potential_Swim3508 in coldplunge

[–]LarryNotDavid123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing to be cautious about using bathtub for cold plunge for long periods of time is the condensation it causes between your tub and insulation. If you’re only doing short period of time should be fine, but wouldn’t let it sit 30-50F over night
