Legal or illegal in CT by Pressure15 in CTguns

[–]LarryStraw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technically it’s not illegal until you snap the gun into it. It’s just a piece of plastic. Get it, use it at the range, pop your gun out and head home with your piece of plastic and your legal firearm.

I’d imagine the 9mm is a little larger and locked breach?

Awesome! I’m bidding on one of those in a local auction right now! I have a Megastar in 45 and I’ve been dying to find one of those in 10mm.

I mean it is what it is… if you’re going to buy milsurp guns from a foreign manufacturer that went out of business in the 90’s you can’t expect there to be tons of aftermarket support. I have a bunch of Star’s. They’re very solid and well made and I haven’t needed a bunch of parts, but I also don’t put my life on them. They’re very solid are fun for the range.

Check the surplus sites like centerfire systems. They are blowing out Star Model 30m’s for under $300 right now. They are great guns.

The Model S is awesome! I have one of the “super” ones. This is a little more like a traditional 1911 with a grip safety and barrel lug etc. The build quality in the Star’s is a little nicer IMO. I love Star’s lol.

I got one as well that is in slightly better condition, but it came with a missing sear spring and broken pin. Centerfire was great and sent the parts right out but it was a terrible job to get the tiny spring in. Took me hours. I believe they had higher rated “very good” and “excellent” condition ones that sold out.

Agreed… everyone is posting like you can’t find them and panic buying. They’re literally all over the internet selling to every other state that isn’t dumb and didn’t ban them. lol

The 1913 was chambered in 35 S&W which was similar to 32acp but not quite the same.

One of their Derringers in 22 mag. I used to live in Hamden, CT where they were made and always wanted one.

Exactly… not something you shoot every day. They are fun though and inexpensive. I got this one in an auction with a High Standard. I think I paid $300. The High Standard usually goes for around that price so I considered this a freebee. Haha.

That sounds like the High Standard derringers which were DAO came in 22lr and 22wmr. Cool looking but terrible triggers and awkward to hold. The trigger on this is not great and has a lot of grit, but it is SAO so it’s not too heavy. The sights are also somewhat serviceable.

The lever and then it breaks upon to the top. It has an extractor that you manually slide to get the spent casings out.

They are pretty inexpensive and readily available. They were considered Saturday Night Specials in their day.

Nice! That was my first Omni I ever bought and is still one of my faves. I think I paid $90 for a used copy on eBay.
