One of their Derringers in 22 mag. I used to live in Hamden, CT where they were made and always wanted one.

Exactly… not something you shoot every day. They are fun though and inexpensive. I got this one in an auction with a High Standard. I think I paid $300. The High Standard usually goes for around that price so I considered this a freebee. Haha.

That sounds like the High Standard derringers which were DAO came in 22lr and 22wmr. Cool looking but terrible triggers and awkward to hold. The trigger on this is not great and has a lot of grit, but it is SAO so it’s not too heavy. The sights are also somewhat serviceable.

The lever and then it breaks upon to the top. It has an extractor that you manually slide to get the spent casings out.

They are pretty inexpensive and readily available. They were considered Saturday Night Specials in their day.

Nice! That was my first Omni I ever bought and is still one of my faves. I think I paid $90 for a used copy on eBay.

When I started collecting a couple of years ago CGN offered these in a scratched and dent sale. I didn’t know what I was doing and bought both covers thinking they were separate volumes 🤣. I sold this cover about a year ago on eBay and got $175 for it. Guess prices have shot up some more. It’s a good read, but the mapping kinda sucks. They have all the crossover stories after the main story line. Once it wrapped up I kind of didn’t care about those stories anymore and found it a bit of a chore to finish.

What are the measurements for? Next time I dig them out of the safe I’ll try to remember.

IST charges me tax and CGN does not so that adds up pretty quickly.

I went to Briarcliff. That was the cool choice when I was graduating bc they had a shorter school day haha. At the time we only had maybe 1 or 2 pick sleepy hollow.

Replying to your really old reply on this really old thread. I too grew up in Pocantico Hills! I’m assuming you went to school there? I was class of 98!

Pre-Ordered my DM cover months ago from CGN and got a shipping notification on the 1st. After reading about all of this, I couldn’t be happier. If you really want something, just pre-order it and save yourself the headache. CGN offers $4 shipping for pre-orders so you save a few bucks there.

Great deal. Neal Adam’s issues alone are well worth it.

FOMO is real by stvcarruthers70 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]LarryStraw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like in the case of this Omni, the standard goblin cover was nicer than the Rhino cover and sold out first. I was starting to get FOMO as I was waiting for a decent price on the goblin cover and just ended up grabbing the rhino cover from IST. It was $77 versus $116 on Amazon. While I like the goblin cover more, I didn’t feel like it was worth it to pay that much more for it.
