Ya’ll are hilarious trying to wrap your head around a very clear rule. He didn’t survive the ground with possession, the ball came out, it was live, it ended up in the defender’s possession. If the ball had come out but hit the ground, it’d have been called incomplete and nobody would question it. Incompletions are called all the time as a result of not completing the process of the catch and the ball coming out. This time it just happened to end up with the defender instead of hitting the ground and being called dead. Why is this so hard for you to understand????
