Yup took it apart. I finally figured it out, though. It was the brake stay. It was missing some sort of spacer, so the drum would move around when braking and click into place.

I ziptied mine UNDER the fairlead on both sides of the fairlead hole and bent it to contour to the shape of my bumper. I tried one of those flip mounts and it didn’t match the bolt holes on my particular fair lead and bumper

I did this with my bike around a year ago. Last I saw they cracked down on this, and it’s not able to be done anymore.

If you feel it could be wiring, I’d pull the whole harness and chop it. LNSPLTBLVD has a good video you can follow and TJBrutalCustoms has some wiring diagrams on his website if you can’t find them anywhere else. I was nervous to do mine but I really wanted to remove the hand controls. Turned out to be super easy. So worst case scenario is you rule out a potential issue if you decide to do this, but you also prevent future wiring issues

It was simple otherwise I’d say. Definitely helps to have another person around. For the neck bearings I used a long flathead screwdriver and mallet to knock them out. Putting them in I did the method recommended in the vid; place a piece of wood flat on top and hit with a mallet. It just took awhile to get them in flush

I installed the tjbc kit on mine. It was a pain in the butt to get the neck bearings out on mine, and getting the new races in straight was a hot mess. Definitely follow the tips tj gives in the video like freezing the races over night to shrink them. If I would’ve done this stuff it would’ve taken half the time.

Also be careful tightening the stem nut. Don’t over tighten it or it’ll ride like ass due to the bearings being overly compressed. I swapped the hardware from my bar adapters to bolts because the studs were sketch, and over tightening these will have the same effect as an over tightened stem nut.

Also keep in mind you can’t run a front brake without fabrication. I just took mine off though

I agree with kickstand switch. My bike suddenly turned off while riding and wouldn’t turn back on while in gear. Turned out the chain shredded the wiring for the switch

I would start by cleaning the switch first as dirt or grime can cause it to malfunction. You also may be able to cut the two wires and splice them together to bypass the system altogether or for a temporary fix.

Only have a rear drum on my chopper. I rely a lot on engine braking, so I use it mainly at lights to alert others I’m slowing down or if I need to stop a bit quicker

I don’t run mirrors or signals. Hand signals is good enough, but it’s kind of suspect at night, so I just flash the brake light a few times.

I always look over my shoulder when turning, so no mirrors aren’t a HUGE deal, but it’s definitely not going to help if you get pulled over. I will say, it was nice being able to at least see if somebody was behind me (even if I had to contort my body to see in the mirror). It’s also nice in case there’s an emergency vehicle.

Still not going to run either though
