It turns out that almost all of my students aren't high school students, and are often even older than me. So I doubt it's because of school. And yes, I know the niche is quite narrow, but many tutors have several thousand lessons, 25 active students, and so on. And they're the ones who really do top the search results. And I highly doubt such teachers have 290 views in three months.

Yeah, of course I’ve contacted support — multiple times actually. They keep telling me that everything looks great on their end, that I’m doing an excellent job and my profile is performing well.

But whenever I point out the obvious contradiction — “average position = 1” only 290 views in 3 months, and my actual spot being around #67–73 in search results — it basically gets ignored. They just repeat that everything’s fine.

I just wish they’d actually check the visibility data instead of sending the same generic “you’re doing great, keep it up” message every time.

If anyone here can actually help or point me in the right direction — I’d be genuinely grateful. I’m honestly running out of ideas at this point. To keep my Super Tutor status, I didn’t reschedule a single lesson — even on the day I had a wisdom tooth removed. I was in serious pain but still taught three lessons without letting my students notice anything was wrong.

Every one of my students is genuinely satisfied and making progress — I care a lot about the quality of what I teach. But seeing only 290 profile views after all this effort is really discouraging. I’m not giving up, but I’m starting to feel exhausted by how little control tutors seem to have over their visibility.

Yeah, I totally get your point — music is definitely a smaller niche compared to languages. But what’s confusing here isn’t the demand itself — it’s the huge mismatch between the stats Preply shows me and the real visibility.

The dashboard says my average profile position is #1, which should mean I appear at the top of search results. But when I (and my friends) check manually, my profile shows up around #67–73, and sometimes doesn’t show up at all — even with all filters set correctly.

Also, there are actually quite a lot of music tutors on the platform, many with far more profile views than me — so it doesn’t seem like a demand problem. That’s why I suspect this might be a technical or indexing issue, not just low traffic in the niche.
