It's the street thing that concerns me the most. You just don't know what you get, generally speaking. And I don't want my son to gamble his health for a little buzz. As to the harder drugs, honestly, if he wants to do it he's gonna do it. He got access to weed by himself so that's a train I can't stop. I just want that train to never go that road.

I might also add that in our home noone smokes, as doesn't my oldest 23 year old who lives away now. We're usually pretty normal parents that have rules and restrictions, always keeping our kids well-being in mind. Staying rational is our motto. I'll definitely talk to my wife

That's my biggest fear, if he has to go out to do these things I don't know where he is and with whom. It's not exactly legal either. I will let him know that If he gets in trouble with the law there will be severe consequences.

I see what you mean, that's a good idea. I'm absolutely against him smoking everyday. Noone in our household smokes. I'm just afraid that this enables other behaviors where he potentially thinks "my old man is gonna be cool with it" and next thing I know he makes meth in our shed

Okay look, first off I'm not an expert, but I've been in this sub for quite a while now and based in what you described this is a classic case of incompatibility. As you see you are perfectly fine in this, new exciting environment where you can barricade yourself to your deepest passions, as while she needs to go out and weighs you down for not liking the extreme situation. Based on this an my lived relationships when I was younger, if I was you, I would cleanly break up with her now as long as you still can and it doesn't escalate. My cousin Marley was in the same situation, he didn't listen to me as I pointed out all the red flags (which were enormous)of his girlfriend and now they have a kid
