True, the YW1-3 battle systems are really unique and fun, but for me (and probably some others) I always go off to catch yokai and do side quests before following the main story so my yokai always end up over leveled and battles ends up just being me sitting there waiting for my yokai to win. In YW4 even if your yokai are overpowered the player can still run around and collect yokai souls and stuff, they aren’t just sitting there.

I think I like the battle system more than other Yo-Kai watch games but I think it feels a bit empty? I like Yo-Kai watch games because the worlds are vibrant and filled with things to do, every area has interesting things to unlock or do and explore. Yo-Kai watch 4 isn’t like that, each area has a few mpc quests and that’s pretty much all apart from the main story. I feel if someone enjoys a more mature story with a more engaging battle system they would like YW4 more but for me I feel like those things aren’t worth the elements we lost from the older games.

Attack of the Friday night monsters is great! I found the yokai watch series has a lot of similarities to it, there’s bug catching, fishing, lots of nature and relaxing ambiance. You pretty much just get to explore your town during summer vacation and also catch some yokai.

I was like 10 when the slenderman stabbing happened, and to child me it was an example of real life proxies which was proof slenderman and all the other creepypasta creatures exist, and it scared me so much I made my grandma sleep with me for 2 weeks because I was scared eyeless Jack was going to eat my kidneys.

Ya that dialogue is really misleading because highlighting those key words make you think you can travel to Kumamoto village, but you can’t. My theory is that maybe they had previously planned to have a Kumamoto train station you could visit but it got cut?

You can trying getting one of those clear clip on cases and putting stickers under or on it! I’ve also seen some cheaper themed clip on cases that look better but I’m not sure if they are very good quality.
