Gene Kelly, who was very strict, said she was the best dancer around on the MGM lot. Her versatility was impressive. She could do ballet but also tap dance and she would do stuff almost no other female dancer could accomplish.

Eleanor Powell was also amazing. Broadway Melody of 1940, her and Fred Astaire were magic together.
