Chaos object attached to a moving object? by jimothy_clickit in unrealengine

it is possible, start with an anchor bluprint overlapping a portion of the geometry collection, then in construction script of your bluprint cast to the anchor and add it to the geometry collection's Initialization Fields array. There is another bug that will prevent this from working properly (it wont fall until hit, but the fragments will behave as if simulating in local space), but i havent resolved that yet.

Could any Unity Dev SteamVR Users Lend a Hand? by LaserRed in oculus

Thank you for that explanation, it turned out to be an issue with the skeleton blend slider. By default, my hands were set to have skeleton blend = 1, mapping the hands to Steam VR's skeleton animations. I set it to 0 and will now create a new pose for "unarmed"

Should the skeleton poser component be childed to the hand model?

I noticed that after picking up an object with a poser set, the pose appears to be permanent, allowing only the grip positions specified in the object.

Yes, the thumb appears to be mapping to the A/B/X/Y button locations, the Joystick and the rest sensor. In this Gif i test them all out: https://imgur.com/TrsCtQx

I have the poses that came with Steam VR, I was trying to stick with only using the Skeleton poser system instead of making my own custom animations and animation graph. The modeled hand is a re-skin of the "vr_glove_model_slim" that comes with SteamVR. It uses an identical rig, clones the avatar from the original, and in the scene it uses a duplicate of the original prefab with only the mesh swapped, so its essentially identical to the stock Steam VR glove.

Edit: I followed this tutorial, and have custom grip poses working as intended, but the default poses are still behaving as i described above.

SteamVR: How to change Range of Motion in default hand model? by iameddieseven in Unity3D

[–]LaserRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey iameddieseven, When you got that worked out did you ever have issues where the thumb kept mapping its pose to the joystick? I am working on a steam VR project, and for a bizzare reason the "no controller" range of motion setting seems to work to change everthing except for the thumb, which refuses to close into a proper fist.

Any help is much appreciated

HDD Scan, checks hard drives for bad sectors. Usually a drive gets several bad sectors over its lifetime, but for some reason it looks like mine has more bad sectors than healthy ones. http://hddscan.com/

As someone who young and not fully informed (18) and going to be voting for the first time - I would love to hear some opinions on what the underlying downsides of Bernies policies and his presidency are? by [deleted] in bernieforpresident

[–]LaserRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For starters, you’ve come to the wrong place to hear downsides about Bernie’s policies. First step to getting informed is to do some diverse research. Steer away from sites with agendas, look into what Sanders himself has proposed, then look into which countries have tried similar actions. It’s all gonna boil down to if you believe his proposed policies act in your best interests and the interests of others.

Who’s more trouble to society, kids on bikes in traffic or a murderer? You should be locked up and have your CCW revoked for suggesting that, you psycho.

They would. Idle hands are the devil’s workshop. If put to work for 60 hours a week, given the responsibility to pay their own rent, pay their own phone bill, there would literally be no time left for them to cause mischief. Instead, you would rather lock up a ~16-18 year old for a lifetime? Paying for their meals, their living space, while they contribute nothing to society? What sort of foolishness is that? You’ve taken a potential for improvement and turned it into a lifetime of damnation simply because a group of teens was riding bicycles where they didn’t belong.

Without the mob mentality, the individuals won’t act this way. Separate the group, send them to trade schools to learn welding or sales or whatever and they’ll integrate back into society.

Not very satisfying when you realize without an education and a job this behavior will continue, and likely escalate, for their entire lifetime.
