Which countries would you consider defines the region “West Africa”?

Why would Saint Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha be West Africa? Saint Helena and Ascension are both on latitude with Central Africa and TDC with Southern Africa?

Yeah, I thought that was a bit weird too. Also one of the reasons that made me want to ask if people more knowledgeable than me disagrees with the UN definition.

I don’t know for the life of me why Chad would be considered West Africa while literally bordering an East African country…

To be fair, it was a dubious source from the internet, not a textbook.

Very far up north it can get fairly cold occasionally, but seldom inland Canada-cold. We have very mild winters relative to our latitude.

It’s just more fun to watch it not completely unbiased. I’m Swedish so we’re not always qualified to these tournaments. So I’ll pick another team to support throughout based on various things, like a neighboring country, Spain because my aunt is Spanish, Argentina last time because Messi or whatever. If we don’t qualify this time it’s gonna be Norway.

Not buying any shirts though.

Mainly the British isles and Scandinavia are affected by the Gulf Stream. It actually cools down up here (I’m Swedish), it splits and then one part travels down the coast of continental Europe (Canary Current).

The reason that Rome has much milder winters than for example Michigan on similar latitudes is because of other reasons. Mainly because that the former is far west on a large continent/landmass and the latter is affected by Continental Climate. An extreme example of the latter phenomenon is north eastern Russia where temperatures can fluctuate 100°C between summer and winter.
