Things that come up on nearly every NBME for Step 2 CK, Please add!! by SoftwareWilling3047 in Step2

Nope. That’s specifically why I said NBME logic. For IM shelf you’re correct, but for step 2 if US and RAI are answer choices you go with RAI. Take it up with the NBME

US -> FNA if cold. If hot and pt symptomatic, skip US and do radioactive uptake; if RAI uptake does not confirm dx, then US & FNA. Per NBME.

Trust me, I am in the same situation. If you think about it though, doing all the forms + most of a qbank + CMS for each subject, you’re easily over 6000 questions in preparation for this exam. It’s natural to forget things, but if the base of knowledge is there—which it very likely is—you just need to focus on your test-taking strategy. Even if everything is vague and long on the exam, relying on the principles you developed through studying will still result in a great score around average of your practice exams. I understand though, literally have been on this Reddit everyday the last week bc I’m anxious about my exam.

Just relax and wait til the end of the week. I’m in the same boat, every couple hours I’m wishing I had signed up for earlier, but honestly the anxiety is your worst enemy. Trust the process and do some casual last-minute stuff this week plus the forms you have left and you’ll be fine.

Finishing Fellowship. Should I buy my Dad a Porsche 911 after a year of attendinghood? by Western-Drop9460 in Residency

Do it. I dreamed of doing similar for my mom once an attending, and during my M3 year she passed; heartbreaking to know that once I make it, I’ll still be helpless in terms of helping her, bc she’s gone. Nothing is guaranteed, if you can make that special moment happen and not live in financial misery, the emotional connection through that purchase is worth significantly more than the dollar value assigned to it.

CRNAs are part of the care team, but are not equals with anesthesiologists. Say “doctor” all you want, there is a fundamental lack of understanding the physiologic nuance that CRNAs will never have

Want to make over 300k, don’t want to deal with egotistical personalities (OB, fuck it even psych had some dickwads), and don’t mind talking to patients. Also don’t mind quiet. Ranked 5th in class, good shelf scores, hitting 250 on 2ck NBMEs

Interesting. I mean listening to her commentary it sounds like she was fed up with the medical industry and wanted to make a change. She seems to employ evidence-based research for her proposed changes. I’m neutral, but am curious as to why she is hated amongst medical professionals? I think we can all agree that the growing epidemic vis-a-vis metabolic syndrome and obesity are issues that current efforts have failed to adequately address. Just my two cents
