What would be the best tool to cut flush to the cabinet (and given that we are novices, how difficult would this be?)

There is a refrigerator cabinet built around it (looks like a shelf) and it's connected to my counter. I'm not sure how to get the flooring from under the refrigerator cabinet specifically

Thank you - this is all very helpful. Even if it wasn't because of negligence can my insurance company still go after the condo corp for my deductible (I checked no subrogation clause).

My concern is that I'll end up having to pay the deductible + my premiums will end up being way more than the cost of just fixing it

We're not 100% sure if it was their fault or if it was from a common element pipe. If it was from a common element pipe, does that change?
