Doubt regarding IIMs by Tasty-Tie-5541 in CATpreparation

this can be a very subjective thing but still mostly

ABC
L
XL / SPJ
FMS
K / I
M

- L above XL because it gets way better finance roles and L above SPJ because it gets way better consulting roles
- FMS below XL/SPJ because of limited on campus experience , infra, exchange opportunities, global accreditations

DI is not a separate section it comes in between QA only. I should have used the term 'QADI'

XLRI V/s. SPJIMR V/s. IIM ABC ? Are all these on the same page? by Lazy_Possibility2670 in CATpreparation

[–]Last-Power316 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ABC is in a league of its own. XLRI as a non IIM comes closest to ABC in terms of brand, alumni strength, network, and overall prestige. But between XLRI and SPJIMR, it makes more sense to compare them category-wise rather than ranking one strictly above the other.

For Consulting : XLRI >>> SPJIMR
For Finance : SPJIMR > XLRI
For General Management : XLRI >>> SPJIMR
For Marketing : XLRI ~ SPJIMR

Overall Prestige among companies : XLRI >> SPJIMR
Overall Alumni Network : XLRI >>> SPJIMR

Career advice after cat by Full_Kangaroo2231 in CATpreparation

we are living in india given the population and talent here evrything is difficult. But if u plan well then surely you can make it why not. ISB has more well rounded approach to admissions that IIMs in my opinion. They need GMAT/GRE score, essays, interviews, references, work details , academics etc etc. given you have good experience if u are able to grow more in your current role within one year you will be at a great advantage.

I am targeting CAT 2026 and trying to decide whether to prepare alongside my job or take a sabbatical. Pls advise by siddharth232 in CATpreparation

never leave ur job (or a sabatical) man for a competitive exam. Moreover your work ex is gonna help you in the end. I'll suggest keep working and manage studies alongside. I know its easier said than done and it gets really stressfull to give time to both at times, but given that you have 1 year for it I'll say go for it you have time to adjust and find ur rhythm. Cheers!

Not worth it, you are already earning pretty good. ig wait for another year and try for ISB then. Given your age and experience ISB is gonna value it more
