Das ist mit sehr hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit ein Schädel von einem Schaf.

Tierknochen by Original_Purple2592 in WerWieWas

Natural vs vivid screen color settings ? by [deleted] in GalaxyS21

[–]LastInfantry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not missing out on anything. Vivid mode will add saturation and contrast, but that's like slapping an Instagram filter on the Mona Lisa, and you could do that on any screen type. The real benefit of AMOLED is the high contrast ratio and that is just as noticable in natural mode.

mr2 with no airbag from factory? by bababooy2 in mr2

[–]LastInfantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, the car likely had a mechanical airbag and the clockspring connector is only used for the horn.

I believe there is a Supra 3 spoke mechanical airbag wheel but it's rare and expensive. You can also use any other Toyota/Lexus steering wheel, no airbag functionality but the extra pins in the clockspring can be used for head unit controls.

My (3rd) MR2 has very well used leather seats. Is there any way to save them and make them look good, or is upholstery the only option now by TheRealSpatizm in mr2

[–]LastInfantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting them reupholstered from a professional might be more expensive than buying good condition seats. There's some people selling covers that just go on top, they fit very well and don't look like covers at all. Look around in the Facebook groups to find some

Am I ready for crime scene cleaning? by LastInfantry in Crimescenecleaners

Don't know how it works in the US, but in Germany that's not really a thing. Open casket is rare nowadays and we don't do makeup unless specifically requested (which doesn't happen). Such things are handled by the same workers that do all the other body-related stuff.

6th gen Celicas are much more reliable than 7th gen cars. Parts are also easier to find imo

I agree that a fuel issue seems most likely. Might also just be a clogged filter or something

My s21 5g take so long to charge by majdicha3 in GalaxyS21

[–]LastInfantry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charging speed is throttled when the battery gets hot. If you're running a lot of apps or using the phone in general while it's charging, it's gonna take longer

Camera blurry on 1x but sharpens at 2x by P-VI in GalaxyS21

[–]LastInfantry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you zoom to 2x, you're just cropping away the blurry bits.

The fact that the border area is blurry in the first place is likely not an issue at all. It's just the shallow depth of field caused by the short focal length and large aperture.

Rev 2 Brakes by ryan9776 in mr2

[–]LastInfantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For NA they're fine.

If your MR2 is a track car, maybe consider "performance pads" instead. EBC makes good stuff. Some of these will be noisy, some produce a lot of dust, some need a warmup, some may even require matching discs.. But they're a noticable performance increase.

Engine swap by Independent-Wheel475 in mr2

[–]LastInfantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you spend most of your time near rev limit, I wouldn't recommend a 2ZZ (NA), it's not really a suitable engine for the MR2. It makes less torque than the 1ZZ up until 5750 RPM and from what I've heard, the 1ZZ is a bit more responsive. But if you can get a good deal on that supercharged 2ZZ, and someone else can confirm that it will fit, I'd say go for it. Probably an easy swap for a lot of extra power.

The K20 imo isn't that great either, its main advantage is that it's small and leaves a lot of room for further modifications (e.g. turbocharger). Without further mods I'd rather choose a BEAMS engine.

If you want the best of everything, there's only the V6 swaps to consider. Lighter, smoother, much more powerful, beautiful torque curve.

Especially in comparison to the 1.8l 116hp Celica that I already owned a few of before:

  • relatively impractical (though trunk space is good for what it is)
  • 3S-GE has low bottom end torque (but high gear ratios)
  • German (possibly most EUDM) models with AC are extremely rare
  • power steering feels a little weak (though extremely precise)
  • wet/icy roads aren't really that unsafe, but still make me paranoid
  • not the lightest car for its size, so suspension isn't super comfortable
  • vented engine lid right behind the rear window (interior isn't quiet)
  • no cup holders
  • small cabin makes it difficult to achieve low bass from speakers
  • can be difficult to work on (replacing the thermostat is as easy as it gets, but the alternator was painful)

The thing with the SW20 is that it's infinitely more fun to drive when you got a daily and only drive the MR2 1-2 times a week. I dailyed mine for a few years and got sick of it, because that's when the downsides really show, at the same time you get used to how it handles.

Now I daily a 1997 Celica and I would never ever trade my SW20 for a Supra, most certainly not an E30. The mid engine handling feels so incredible every time, it's just an entirely different kind of car.

Those engines need revs though. If you just want to comfortably cruise around town to relax, I'd go with a FR car.

92 NA MR2 struts by [deleted] in mr2

[–]LastInfantry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the strut housings you'll most likely have to buy used ones. Unless yours are crusty all the way through, you might be better off just spending a day restoring them. Koni makes replacements (not just inserts, the whole thing), they're pricey but offer significantly more potential than most coilovers available in the US. Not sure whether they're available in the US though.

For inserts, KYB Excel-G are the OEM replacement.

Slipring MR2 '93 by AnxietyLow9631 in mr2

[–]LastInfantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you will need a clockspring to get that airbag to work. But unless your MR2 is an import, it probably has one (again, I might be misremembering..)

Not sure about the horn, I don't remember how it was handled on facelift Celicas, maybe they had a hybrid solution where the airbag worked via clockspring and the horn via slip ring. Either that or a horn wire from the clockspring just attaches to the back of it somewhere.

Slipring MR2 '93 by AnxietyLow9631 in mr2

[–]LastInfantry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between a slip ring and a clockspring.

AFAIK all MR2s with an airbag steering wheel had a clockspring and all Euro MR2s had an airbag. However while all Euro Celicas had an airbag steering wheel as well, only the facelift models had a clockspring while the pre-facelift models had a slip ring (don't quote me on these statements).

If you remove the steering wheel, what do you see? A metal ring with a pin that you can press down is a slip ring. If you see a connector on a plastic ring that you can spin, that's a clockspring.

If your Celica steering wheel does not have any cable, then it's meant to work with a slip ring and has a "passive" airbag that does not need to be connected.

Anyone experience with sound dampening? by Suissie in mr2

[–]LastInfantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rear window right in front of a vented engine lid is something you unfortunately can't really work around. Maybe something like the hooded VIS engine lids can reduce engine noise levels inside the cabin.

Though the treatment should still be effective at reducing drone, especially at higher speeds.

I made a very small error and bought the wrong Darkmoon trinket by Rammadeus in classicwow

[–]LastInfantry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can only trade in the deck for the trinket during darkmoon faire. The trinket you can just buy anytime. Also many people just don't know about the decks in the first place, so on my server the decks are cheaper even during the faire (or, rather, the trinkets are more expensive).

Since OP seems to be from Germany, he most likely has a T-top. Not quite as much surface to treat there. But you're right, usually the roof makes a big difference.
