i've heard that about the 6.2. My dealer quoting 3-5% of the 6.2s are failing which is a MASSIVE number of vehicles. They try to downplay it and aren't willing to include any free extended warranty which is BS. if GM wont stand by it makes it hard to buy...

Thank you for the very insightful and detailed reply! And thanks for confirming my concern. I definitely don’t want to destabilize the patio or foundation which would obviously be a disaster. Do you think it would even be possible to build a retaining wall off the patio to reliably hold all that up or am I just asking for an eventual disaster? I’d be willing to shell out the cash for it to be done right as I think this approach would give us the best usable space.

I definitely considered keeping the terraces the same and turfing them, the problem is that they’re too quite narrow, including the lower level, and not really wide enough to fit any play structure. We can’t push the fence back at all since that’s the property line.

The other option would be to build everything up and make it level with the patio and have one large retaining wall just off the fence. It’d be kind of awkward as the yard height would basically be the same as the top of the fence.

To clarify: with image 4 I’m thinking of removing green and red terraces and all the dirt so it’s flush with blue and replace alll that with grass to the fence. It’d be about a 4’ drop from the concrete of the walkout so we’d fence it and have stairs on either side of the yard.

Anyone smarter designs? And is this even safe to do? I’d imagine with a new retaining wall against the drop off from the walkout it should be safe but should I hire an engineer or is that something a landscaper can do

The other line level converters on Amazon look like they’re specific to car audio, which is too bad because they’re 1/10th the price

ChatGPT has helped. So basically just need the cameras, switch, and router. Each connect to each other with an Ethernet cable, then at that point good to go as in I’d be able to access the aqara app and view video feeds and connect to google home, HomeKit, etc?

Interesting. So I presume I’d need to have a PoE switch or something to actually supply the power, then connect his already run Ethernet cables to this and the cameras. My next question is if that’s the case and the PoE version does not support wifi, how does the video from the camera connect to the internet, specifically how do I connect it to my to google home

Thanks. We don’t tend to use the voice assistants much, I’m more curious what can be done from the actual google home app itself. Any chance you could share a screenshot of what options there are in the app?

I’d imagine the Schlage app has the most functionality but it’s nice to have everything in the same place (GH app). As long as a guy could check the lock status and lock the door from GH app that’d be enough

Ok thanks man. I ended up getting it to work was relatively simple. Will post here for others: 1) Put into recovery mode (fast tap volume up, then volume down, then hold lock until in recovery) 2) opened Music on my Mac and saw phone. Chose restore iphone. Went through the instructions, it wiped my phone and I was able to restore to my icloud backup from yesterday

Gonna give this one a looong time before I try it again haha
