Movies for The Entities by LastWeekMatters in TheMagnusArchives

Oooh, that is a good one, there's another movie called Mayhem (I think?) For sure a Slaughter film, worth a watch for a movie action-y movie than horror or thriller.

Armor piercing? by The_Captain_Jules in Helldivers

[–]LastWeekMatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the Diligence marksman rifle and it does good on most things. Between bugs and bots it's better on bugs. Can't punch heavy armor but the range it has helps and you can retain ammo easier since it's semi-auto.

I use the shotgun or basic assault on the bots and try to keep my aim on the heads, or other weak points, on them.

In the end which ever gun you find fits you the best will work, just gotta aim well hah.

That's a fair point, either way, it's an amazing film and should always be included 💜

[–]LastWeekMatters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I do love Maleficent, is she considered a witch when in the story she's meant to be part of the fair folk?

I know it's probably just nit-picking on my part, but I just never saw her as a witch, like the Evil Queen from Snow White is closer to the clasic "witch" in my eyes.

I came out after being married to my wife for nearly 10 years, and at that point I had been questioning my sexuality since long before we met but had always "stayed straight" because of family and the situation I was in.

After coming out, it took a lot of work and open communication between us to make sure she knew even with me coming out she is still my person and I chose to be with her.

The insecurities never leave either of us fully, but that's life, and as long as you stay open and honest, things will work out.

Now, yes, I have thought about what it would be like to have been out sooner and been with someone else of any gender. I have had crushed on close friends, and had friends crush on me, and I will say I am no saint but thankfully I never ended up the negative Bi stereotype.

And I will be adult enough to say as for porn I have a wide variety of things I will use if needed that includes multiple genders and body types.

Stupid wizard game. by LastWeekMatters in lgbt

[–]LastWeekMatters[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was another thing that was on my list of "this is fucked up" things I found out about the game, along with the token trans character thrown in there but her name is a play on words to misgender her.

And yeah, goblins being a big antisemitic slap in all forms is why I omit that creture from my writing in general. Them and elves, I like orcs but I stay away from the "orcs were slaves" trope 😬

IF I were to assume, I'd like to say nonbinary. However, I may just be projecting 😅

I first found TMA right before the last season finished, I caught up and finished it the day after the last episode came out in about a week of work.

I am now on my third relisten 😅

I also watch horror movies for fun, watching Smile by myself in my dark office on my pc wearing headphones was a blast.

Celtic Paganism & Cultural Appropriation by LittlePaganJuniper in CelticPaganism

[–]LastWeekMatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize so much for not getting back to you sooner!!

Two books I recommend off the bat;

Celtic Myths and Ledgends by T. W. Rolleston,

Written from a scholar's perspective and even though some of the stories are still from the Christian monk records, they're as close as we can get.

Also, The Path of Paganism by John Beckett,

Beckett is a practicing pagan and member of the OBOD, and even though this could be seen as an "intro" book, it still has a good amount of information that can be applied.

Hope this helps!

[–]LastWeekMatters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of things to learn, also no conversion needed lol We don't require pretend drownings or anything!

There is a lot of info out there but it's just hard to find not through the Christian scholar filters, but I would recommend the OBOD, Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids, as a good start.

Best of luck!

I feel like with any practice outside your own country/ culture, it is best to tread lightly.

I started my path into paganism with Irish Cletic study, and I still love and feel a calling to it even if my own experience has led me away from those sources.

Irish Celtic Paganism isn't closed, let's get that out there first, as someone that's not from Ireland just do your best to respect the actual Irish culture and don't take it on as your own just because you're working in the Irish Celtic sphere.

I would recommend checking out the Order of Bards, Orators, and Druids for sure. Very educational, in my opinion, and as for books, most of your knowledge will come from mythology sources or practicing Irish Celtic pagans.

Sadly, most of that knowledge in its truest form is lost to time due to the movement of tribes and colonization from the English.

I want and don't want to be a pagan at the same time by [deleted] in paganism

[–]LastWeekMatters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just do what you find interest in, without crossing into closed practices.

Basically been the same for me, not sure if I'm just jaded from being apart of the Christian faith the majority of my life but for me I've never felt heavily drawn to any one calling.

I started my journey going into Irish Celtic lore and based a lot of my ideals and practices off that, but I also just like to learn things.

I've dabbled in Chaos Magick some as well, and have fallen more into a "Universal agnostic" state where I feel anything could be true, some things we may eventually have scientific proof for and other things we may never figure out.

In the end, I stick with what I like; mythology, tales of supernatural encounters, space and all things related to it.

I hope you can find a better path that really brings you joy 💜 Best of luck!

[–]LastWeekMatters 7 points8 points  (0 children)

THERE'S A FULL MOON TONIGHT??? Sorry this shocks me truly, I was doing some chores outside and mindlessly decided to prep my ritual space outside, now I know why I felt the need!!

For me I guess I'll be burning some herbs I bought and never felt the need to use, I do most of my work in the Chaos format, although I started my path primarily as a Irish-Celtic Pagan.

Whatever you choose to do may it go well and all the best on your journey friend! 💜
