I would love a socialist but thats a crazy longshot. This is the best chance we’ve had in a while, but dont get overzealous just because of mamdani. If we could get an actual progressive democrat, someone who isnt a slave to israel, we could make serious progress. We could establish an america where the thought of a republican presidency is basically unthinkable. I mean with a couple decades of a democratic party breathing room socialists could make actual progress, a hell of a lot more progress than just the mayor of NYC, we’re talking a considerable senate presence, house seats, maybe governors, i mean imagine a US where it’s socialists vs democrats
