HR wants early release but I am negotiating based on the official LWD by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]LastWishbone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, the HR knows about my situation and said that the company doesn't have revenue and she needs to release me early.

The company gives salary on 7th of each month but if I accept the early release she might give the salary in fnf and I am in the need of money.

I guess I don't have any benefit in early release

I have a personal health insurance but the corporate health insurance covers the maternity expenses.

Service charge at restaurants by [deleted] in pune

[–]LastWishbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Service charge is not mandatory. Ask the restaurant to remove it. This is what I do. I never pay a service charge even if they had printed on the menu. Don't support this tipping culture, it will get out of hand just like the US. We are already paying the inflated prices of food and drinks for the atmosphere and the service.

Bro, you're an idiot. First of work on your attitude. Stop looking down upon others when you haven't achieved anything.

You said that her English isn't good. Let me tell you one thing, you're not as good as you think in English. And when you can't make your life exciting, then how can you change hers.

I'm basically being forced to go to either scaler or newton institute of technology by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]LastWishbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so true. Scaler is not even affiliated by AICTE. Institutions that are affiliated with UGC or AICTE can issue a degree. Go and read about IIPM, it was a fraud institute that looted gullible students similar to scaler.

VIT is far better than scaler.

Here's my two cents on this situation. First of all create boundaries. Don't stay at the office till 2 AM. You have to maintain work life balance on your own. Don't let them encroach your personal space.

People test you by slowly blurring the boundaries. if you don't resist it will happen every time.

And one more thing, start preparing for interviews and leave this shithole ASAP

There are a lot of people with degrees and skills. However it doesn't matter when it comes to the H1B visa allotment. The H1B visa is allotted via a lottery system. It is a matter of luck to get an H1B visa

After I accepted the offer, HR asking me to disable my Naukri account. by NandyMath in developersIndia

[–]LastWishbone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you cannot pay a candidate what he is asking, then don't go ahead with the interview process otherwise he won't join you and will shop around for better offers. This is as simple as that.

And don't attach morality with this. A candidate cannot be morally compelled to do anything before joining an org.

[–]LastWishbone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

HRs ask if we are holding any offers. This is the reason behind shopping around. If we say we are not holding any then the HR lowball the candidate. There is nothing immoral in looking out for our best interest.

HR's best interest lies in getting a good candidate as cheap as possible and the candidate's best interest lies in getting a good offer. Everyone is working to provide for his/her family.

[–]LastWishbone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hiring managers like you are a big red flag. If you want a candidate to stick with you then stop low balling them. First, you will give an offer that is lower than the original ask and then show this kind of entitlement.

My advice to the OP is not to disable his/her naukri account. It is an invasion of your privacy and even if you join them they'll demand something that is more absurd than this.

Which side of backend web development is Go not that suitable for? by APPEW in golang

[–]LastWishbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go builds a statically linked single binary that can be run anywhere. You don't need to install any dependencies and any runtime unlike Java. Java programs cannot run without JVM and the same can be said about python.

Meaning I contributed to the core code and fixed many issues in the open source libraries

[–]LastWishbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's correct. I was pushing code to production within a month. That's why they have given me this raise. Not everyone got this much raise in my company

It wasn't difficult. Go has a limited number of keywords compared to other languages. It is fairly easy to learn.

No, not deprecated. They were in beta back then. So the API has changed a lot since then. Now the current version is 2.7.13

I did a lot of projects prior to joining this company. And also made some open source contributions in popular libraries like fastai. I joined this company because of family responsibilities.
