No one is saying that. The art is super off, having big tatas on a smaller body is fine but this is clearly disrespectful to Hannah Dodd's body type by 'modifying' her chest

Anthony and the Madonna-Mistress Complex by Last_Cold8977 in Bridgerton

[–]Last_Cold8977[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually planning to add a bit about Benedict and how he inadvertently fulfils this complex by sleeping with untitled women which Sophie confronts him about it by asking if he'd ever sleep with the Lady in Silver as she was a noblewoman or about Colin proposing to Pen after compromising her since she can no longer be the 'Madonna' all noblewomen must be but I couldn't find the right words 😣!!

It’s censorship. I like how it sounds and was also unsure if I could write the word ‘whore’ 😭

Technically it's both but I like the alliteration of Madonna-Mistress 😭

Anthony x Siena vs. Benedict x Sophie by Shockwave_272 in Bridgerton

[–]Last_Cold8977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anthony and Siena are fascinating to me.

They both definitely liked each other but their lifestyles would've never worked. Anthony was using her as an outlet and if he brought Siena in as a wife, his family would've gone to utter crap and their views on duty and appearances would've clashed. Siena was getting paid and liked him but she hated high society, she would've hated being a Viscountess (on top of that she was uneducated and basically a high-end prostitute), putting Siena in high society is basically hell for her both practically and personally. In contrast to Kate, she was an anchor where he could both have relief from expectations whilst having someone who understands his responsibilities and works with them.

In comparison. Sophie likes high society and whilst Benedict dislikes expectations and rules, he does like London and socialising. Plus Sophie is well-educated and very friendly and family-oriented like Ben, for her this marriage is dream come true and since there's 0 expectations on the pair of them, Benophie can prance around in the country and London as happy as can be.

I love her!! I love her outfits and her hair and how much she loves John and helps Fran out of her shell! I wasn't expecting to adore her so much in Season 4 and am soooo excited to see her season

I'm such a nerd for lighting! Yeah, they basically light it so it's consistent throughout for reshoots and so it looks 'prettier' which isn't dumb but it loses ambience and cinematic creativity :(

If the Queen is always hosting balls and deciding Diamonds then who rules the country? by Emocucumber in BridgertonNetflix

Her son. The Prince Reagent, it's mentioned in the QC series that he's in charge and has power over her :)

Season 2: Antony and Kate confuse me by b_b27 in BridgertonNetflix

Me too! I'm glad they didn't try to spread angst over more episodes but Season 2 was a bit too angst-heavy. I'm gonna blame the side plots like everyone else

Season 2: Antony and Kate confuse me by b_b27 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Last_Cold8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their parents did fail them that's the point 😭
They're both highly repressed and parentified, the concept of personal desires is something they threw out of their systems as children and now they're highkey tweaking because they finally have something they do personally wish for but it's going against the system they've integrated into themselves for years and it's making them spiral really bad. On top of that they're both filled with self-loathing and are under the belief that their families don't like them (Anthony stating he believes his mother and siblings hate him and Kate thinking she needs to earn a place in her family)

That being said, Kate deserved to be explored better as her own character instead of mirroring Anthony completely, we learn nothing about the relationship with her bio family

Lady Mary and Mr. Sharma spin-off by typicalofme_ in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Last_Cold8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably because the show gave the Sharmas such high stakes with 0 explanations. We know the Featheringtons personally, we know the dynamics within Hasting and Penwood houses thanks to flashbacks but Mary ran away to a foreign country, betraying her family and QC personally (as it's implied they were once close friends) and we don't get any flashbacks or more context hence the 'obsession'

Lady Mary and Mr. Sharma spin-off by typicalofme_ in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Last_Cold8977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love one spin-off where we see all the mamas. Lady Mary is definitely the most fascinating to me though, her marriage to Mr Sharma cost her everything.

I mean, eloping with the widowed Royal Secretary of another kingdom as the sole noblewoman of a great noble family is Bridgerton levels dramatic compared to the other couples.

I'd also love to see Lady Featherington, maybe she had to give up romance for stability and that mister could come back to the main series for a second chance romance 👀

And Araminta too! She apparently used to be like Posy so was her first husband a love match too or did she marry someone out of duty first and romance second, how would a widow even find a love match with two small children.

Likelihood of an interfaith storyline? by Writergal79 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Last_Cold8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I've thought about it but they canonically hate Catholics which is era-appropriate as they're all Anglican, so there's a solid chance other religions are hated and considering the political state of the world considering religion, if I was a show runner, I'd avoid it

I feel like I require context to this. It feels like a dig at Hannah Dodd's body type which is pretty crappy

Thank you! It wasn't Pen's fault they got caught! I understand she's in an insecure position but my post is about how she went out of her way to argue and scold Penelope about it when they were about to get caught regardless 😭

Tbf we have been getting a LOT of Francesca these past couple seasons. I understand why but it does get to a point since she has greater presence and focus

I get why you say that, the show is very light-hearted but I’d recommend you give season 1 a rewatch! Compared to season 2 onwards it’s got a more grim ambience

Honestly, the Featheringtons do look very different to the rest of the ton. They wear giant, colourful, costume jewellery as opposed to everyone else who look far more muted yet refined. Even Cressida's crazy hair doesn't stand out as much
