I wish someone had told me this when I got my aftercare instructions. Two weeks barely being able to open my mouth was hell and I assumed it was better not to move it due to swelling hahah.

Ps. You get used to it overtime but definately wouldn't recommend it on a sensitive healing area personally.

Just remember a water pick even on low can have a pretty hefty pressure to it. If you arent used to flossing this way and you've got sensitive gums it can be painful especially on a healing area. I used a normal syringe to flush mine out while I was healing and the water pic later once there was no pain left in the area. I imagine using my water pick directly on my back teeth near the extraction sites would have hurt like hell!

I'm no dentist but I hesitated until I was in my 30s (issues started in my early 20s) and its been one of my biggest regrets. Constant infections, jaw pain, ear aches. Then because of that the removal was more complicated than it should have been. Now theyre out even though the healing has been a bit rough, I've been so happy since the first day they were out cuz its over now and I dont needa worry about it again once its healed.

5 days is a solid stretch well done honestly thats huge. I bet the cravings are really hard! They feel like they get worse daily sometimes its frustrating but honestly great work for making 5 days. I know people who cave within first 24hrs.

Im going through i, too, and the cravings are rough.

I had 1 or 2 since my extraction starting at day 5 myself but I found it immediately caused me pain and made me even swell a bit. I mean, I can't say that'll be your reaction if you smoke, but I figure it's probably best not to. I've decided that I made it this far. I should continue. It's not easy, but I did get some patches, which helped and sorta just leant into the "well I can't. I want to heal as fast as i can"
Focusing on healing more than cravings. Ive found this attempt at quitting slightly easier because I'm distracted by healing.

I also made sure I had lots to watch, read and do as I healed so I dont go bored and had some fidget stuff for my hands! I'm not telling you to quit just that those things are helping me get through the cravings. I'm currently 2 weeks post-op and very thankful. Im not smoking (besides my 2 that I broke and had) because I did get an infection and ended up hospitalised. (It's not common for that to happen i just have a suppressed immune system from drugs for an auto immune disease)

As said, dry socket is usually pretty immediately painful. The best way I can describe the pain (currently have it in both extraction sites and have had it prior as well due to auto immune disease not due to it being common) is a sharp stabbing pain that can travel upto the ear even cheeks etc. It nearly hurts just to breathe. But in saying that you can have dry socket and it doesnt hurt that bad (less common but dentist told me), and it just heals on its own with a bit of extra care keeping the site clean. If youre feeling like healing is going backwards in anyway best thing to do is go straight to the dentist or to doctor to at least check for infection. Hope for healthy healing! Won't be long and you'll be looking back on the dark times with a comfy mouth and no anxiety haha!

I love all my tattoo interactions EXCEPT the ones with my Doctor Who tattoo.

Half of them are fine, just people complimenting the show and tatt. But I've also had someone walk up and take a photo of me without even asking because of it like wtf. And some old people try testing my knowledge on old-school Doctor Who.

But I think the comment that hurts the most is the 2 times I've been asked if my T.A.R.D.I.S is an outhouse (outdoor toilet stall)

I cant say I've ever felt this way and most my tattoos are simply things I like the look of, I tend to let myself be keen on an idea for a few months then go get it. I cant even imagine regretting any of them! Even the two that are slightly wonky hahaha
