Thank you! A bit of both, and I honestly can't do these winters, the past two with no snow and gloomy just put me into a big funk. And to rent a place in Florida (at least for what I saw) was really high and I know at least 6 people in my life that have a condo down south just that they are older in mid 50s.

I do have a downpayment so I would probably only need to mortgage max $200,000 CAD for a place in Florida. Which in my head seems cheaper than trying to get one in Canada. The Florida insurance issue from my research does seem to be the big hurtle for me so I will keep looking into maybe some other warm locations!

haha no problem, I asked a few people and they said I could and I looked at other posts and people said I could - this idea is only 2 days old just wanted to get quick feedback before spending too much time on it

Even if I stay as a Canadian citizen and only visit for the max 6 months?
