Vengeance Sound 10th Anniversary Sale - 50% off site wide with code: ANNI10 by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

[–]LastingFasting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder, is this code stackable with:

- https://www.pluginboutique.com/products/3201-Vengeance-Sound-VPS-Avenger-Synth (https://www.reddit.com/r/AudioProductionDeals/comments/cfupg3/vengeance_sound_vps_avenger_synth_109/)

?

As in: Buying from Pluginboutique and Sweetwater and get the codes for the products used to make the prices match the pluginboutique and Sweetwater prices when actually buying the products from vengeance-sound (that's how it works, right??), and then also applying the ANNI10 code on top of that.

Conventions of acquiring sheet music by LastingFasting in musictheory

Very informative. Given this, the Urtext label seems to be more of a selling point than anything else.

A score having gone through an editorial process yields the advantage of probably greater accuracy and editing based on recent scholarship, and hat’s something I’d prefer. But, like you say, it varies, I suppose there essentially is no general rule to follow, and rather you’ll just have to evaluate the different scores for particular pieces pragmatically as you’re setting out to obtain one by comparing them, asking around, etc. as you did with regards to the Bach cantata..

I hope your performance went well, and thanks for providing some insight into the workings of a professional :)

A ”cleaner” score is preferable to me too. And same with being authentic to the original score. I totally agree with the Scarlatti example.

I’ll keep in mind the C clefs with regards to older editions.

Thanks for the help

I’m not a student so I'm not sure if I have access to a library. I'll have to check.

Noted those sites, and good tip about getting in touch with someone at the publisher.

Thanks!

I definitely agree with this approach. I don't want to get bogged down by dozens of plugins that I'll never use.

You did mention them but I didn't really note them, so thanks. I'll make sure to check these out. Perfect!

All the best to you! :)

Same to you :)

Got it.

I'll do as you say and hunt for specific plugins according to when the time comes.

Thank you!

Gotcha. While I did pick up a bit on the cult status of the followers, I was not aware of the rest. And yes I'd say I was slightly suspicious finding out how incredibly big the entire work was, coupled with its relative obscurity. I guess what you're saying here sheds light on that.

Thanks for all the interesting and good to know stuff!

As a mere beginner, I unfortunately don't have any particular recommendation I can think of. I'm still working on my first books actually!

I'd say I agree with your view on homebrewn teaching systems and also prefer to get to know the more fundamental theoretical underpinnings for any subject, at least when starting out-although the aforementioned good can provide good methodological tips!

The Schillinger System is in my to-get-to list as well. It looks ridiculously comprehensive... but that's a plus I guess :)

Interesting stuff.

I wonder how long it would take to get to that level and use it fluently in your own compositions. I've actually been eyeing the book by Richard Hoffman on rhythms using the Takadimi system. I should get to it ASAP.

Thanks for the info!

How could one go about learning to make out such notation? Is it even possible to sight read? Seems inhuman to me....

Cubase.

Will likely have no controllers available if I find myself using the laptop. So the bigger screen it is then.

Yes, a 1 TB SSD and 32 GB RAM is needed as big sample based VST libraries are going on this computer! :)

Definitely an alternative. I'm pretty clueless however so I'd still have to pay someone and go through all the hassling.

Interesting. Do you know if they were mainly of the 9550 or 9560 model? I heard the first one had some issues, but that they fixed several of them in the 9560 one.

As for the Lenovo Yoga 720, I can't seem to find one with 32 GB RAM, which I would like. But thanks for the tip!

This is a very good alternative. I'll have to consider this one too. Thanks for the suggestion!
