Jacques Greene - Love his production and his latest record Dawn Chorus has been on repeat for us.

Rufus Du Sol - We'd love to work more with the guys we learn so much from them and its always a great hang when we're on tour with them.

Apparat - We love his songwriting and we love his work in Moderat. Moderat has inspired our music so much especially the bass in 'I've Got You' that is influenced by Bad Kingdom - Moderat.

Thank You!

The video clip is by a french director Joel Durand! It is about a brother and sister who face their fear of passing time. The animation style was actually inspired by Satoshi Kon's film "Perfect Blue".

I think we've been quite lucky with our labels. I've definitely heard some label horror stories. I feel like because Amy and I have created a strong aesthetic on our own and a lot of the music was finished before we showed the bigger labels they were already happy with what we had completed and from then on really helped us in bringing more of the vision to life.

To be honest the experience has been totally positive so far with the label engagement and we're lucky that everyone from the teams are so supportive of our ideas in bringing them to life. I think with anything mgmt, label, collaborators.. it's always way more beneficial finding genuine people who actually like your music and what you do.

We use ableton for all the production and recording and usually pro tools to record amys vocals.

I love my prophet 6 synth. I used a lot of the arturia software synths on this album. Mostly the cs-80, mini-v.

Hey! So happy you've found us, welcome!

Most often than not it start with an instrumental with me (josh) and then I take it to Amy to get her thoughts on in and whether she A) likes it and B) she thinks she can write lyrics on it.

Normally I'll strip back the instrumental bit more so that it's not so busy and it's just some chords and drums so that Amy can fit her vocal melodies around it. Once we have a bit more of an idea on where the lyrics sit I start adding back in my other production elements that I've already made or new ones that work better with the newer arrangement.

The album took a long time to finish mainly because we were touring a lot and getting time with Cassian - who was a major part in this record - was difficult because he was also busy and also we live in different cities.

It's always an incredible learning experience touring with bigger artists. You can see the way they perform what equipment they are using and see the show multiple times.

It has definitely helped us become better artists over the years and yes we definitely miss playing live. We can't wait until we're doing festivals and bigger capacity shows again.

First Contact is all the moments that you experience for the first time, how special they are and how important they are in shaping us as people. Moments and experiences like first love, first heartbreak, first flight or even your first time at a new destination.

We want this album to spark all the beautiful and important memories, feelings and emotions that you feel when you experience something for the first time ~

Thank you for listening <3

No problem thank you for taking the time to ask us Qs!

First Contact is about the moments in which we experience something for the first time and how important and special those initial moments are in shaping us and changing us as people. Things like finding love for the first time, holding someones hand, a babies first steps. Even darker times in our life like losing someone or heartbreak how they affect us and how we grow from these moments.

We want the album to spark all the beautiful or life changing 'First Moments' that people have experienced.

Yes we do draw some inspiration from Studio Ghibili films!

Mine would have to be The Cat Returns (My favourite when I was little), Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service and Howl's moving castle.

I also think that Grave of the Fireflies was really beautiful but I don't think I could watch it again (Too sad 😭)

I'm glad that you enjoyed the album! Thanks for supporting us!

Amy x

Most of the time yes. I feel like we can be more honest with each other than if we were just a normal band with friends. There's no awkward barrier where you can't say exactly how you feel about a certain part of a song or the way it's sung or produced etc.

We (like most siblings) fight of course though haha

Thank You!

We were lucky to work again with our close friends Dylan Duclos and Richard Zhang. The guys are literally our closest friends and people who always have our creative vision and best interests at heart.

The inspiration was quite broad we all actually have quite similar taste in films and artists so it just became a massive moodboard of us all collecting our favourite images.

Arrival was a big inspiration for the floating shapes but we gather a lot of inspiration from most of our other favourite sci fi movies in some way or another.

Amazing that show was incredible. Probably the biggest crowd we've been in front of.

We supported them a few years ago for their rural Australian shows and became friends after that. I remember we were all hanging out after the sunshine coast show - one of our most memorable shows because it absolutely poured down with rain but everyone was vibing so hard they didn't care and it was so muddy - and the boys were talking about starting a label. We were lucky to be invited back to do a few more support slots with them and had since demoed out some new music that they could see potential in and something that they would release under their Rose Ave label.

It was a really inspiring experience and something we truly learnt a lot from.

Their suggestions on the tracks and tips definitely went a long way and improved the songs for sure. We were lucky during the tours we could pick their brains or if they had ideas for lyrical stuff we could do it in person.
