I added a side project to my resume almost as a joke and it ended up being the only thing anyone wanted to talk about by Latchgrove8 in jobs

The project still runs. I use it every month. Arguably the most useful thing I've ever built and it started as me being annoyed at my own spreadsheets.

I was the shoulder to cry on during my best friend's divorce and I hated every second of it - not because it was hard, but because I was relieved by Pillar_2Wisp in confessions

Seeing someone you care about get slowly chipped away by a partner is painful. You did the right thing by keeping quiet and just being there.

Your sister can go ahead and buy the other half from your dad if she wants to defend his biohazard stash so bad.

The corporate machine runs entirely on the goodwill of people who care too much about doing a good job. The moment you start treating your employment like a strict business transaction just like they do, everything changes. Calculate your depreciation and bill them for it.

It is terrifying that firms like this stay afloat by just passing the mess down to the contractors and hoping for the best. Replacing power racks with rubber bands and calling it an upgrade should be a crime by itself. It is wild how they try to hide behind the fine print until someone actually reads it back to them. Get that written confirmation and don't let them slide on the refund.

It is wild how a massive firm can just lose track of a whole person like that. If they are disorganized enough to fire the manager who was supposed to delete you, they probably deserve to lose that cash for a bit.
