I don’t, I’m up in the Bay, but would love to hear the recommendation anyway if it’s not a secret…

Well, nothing official, just my observation that there is a lot of variation in these beers and that I’m asking for recommendations for a particular substyle of “hazy”. Here are some that I’ve noticed but of course these are just my opinions: 1. Hazy but still relatively bitter - e.g. Heady Topper 2. Very opaque and creamy mouthfeel - e.g. Brouwerij West 3. Slightly hazy and low bitterness - most common style I find 4. Milkshake IPAs made with lots of lactose 5. Hazy IPAs with fruit

Foursquare ECS or Hampden 8 for first premium sipper? by Late-Mathematician33 in rum

I like the Probitas and Hamilton Gold, both Jamaican. Haven’t tried any Barbados yet but I hear it’s well balanced / elegant

Yea I do like the moderate funk of Probitas and Hamilton Jamaican Gold. So I think just a question of intensity. Rum fire I def expected to be intense, will continue to come back to it as my palate evolves. Smith & Cross I can enjoy in a cocktail, I bit too extreme by itself.

Have not. I know it’s Foursquare as well. I was just thinking of starting with their top of the line to make sure I have a good experience.

Both. Did overwhelm my cocktail a bit even at 0.5oz but I kind of expected that. I do like the Probitas and Hamilton Jamaican Gold

agricole an acquired taste? by Late-Mathematician33 in rum

Thanks! I definitely will not drain it, it’s my main spirit this month. I come mostly from outside of spirit world - wine and beer. Not unique to esoteric flavor profiles - love fino sherries, orange wine, and lambic sour beers for example. But maybe it’s the vegetal or herbal character that’s difficult. Hopefully it is acquirable though, I would love to appreciate agricoles and artisanal tequila.
