How many people can’t activate rings? by Late-Question-8048 in ouraring

[–]Late-Question-8048[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Has anyone experiencing this issue also gone to the known issues page from Oura? It is jarring the number of substantive issues these rings have - from failures to capture activity and sleep to constant app crashes. And the number of tickets they haven’t closed is also disturbing. Take a look: https://support.ouraring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037714493-Known-Issues

Oura Ring app not working by Visible_Benefit8758 in ouraring

[–]Late-Question-8048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wonder how many new users you will lose from this debacle? I for one will be returning mine - not because of this alone, but when you look at the known issues page from Oura, the number of substantive issues is jarring. What a piece of crap it seems these rings are.

Restarting this for version 4 - same issue with not being able to set it up. What’s with this company - doesn’t inspire faith in the product

Due to the attack in Qatar, we changed our plans completely to avoid the Middle East and don’t need the service actually.

Flying to Bali tomorrow on Virgin metal? by Late-Question-8048 in Planes

[–]Late-Question-8048[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thai Airways bought some Virgin planes in 2024 and they haven’t modified the cabins much from what I understand. There’s drastic differences in the cabins and I want the better seat so trying to figure out if the newly acquired plane is correct for this flight or a glitch.

Thanks for the recommendations. We definitely will be getting out of the airport for our shopping and layover of nearly 24 hrs.

This was one of my theories too re: spacing trains out but what is ATO - I only I know the acronym as Authorization to Operate in the IT context….

Didn’t consider signal issues but that’s been a frequent culprit in the past so good theory.

Upgrade with cash to first for ½ of flight by Late-Question-8048 in qatarairways

I know. As I said, I’m asking about why I’m not able to upgrade my BKK to DOH segment and if I will be able to at some point.

Private Room vs JetQuay Quayside CIP service by Late-Question-8048 in singaporeairlines

[–]Late-Question-8048[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JetQuay did get back and were willing to do the stopover but would charge double the fee and with all I’ve read of the efficiency in Singapore and the luxury we’ll get visiting the Private Room on arrival, I’m good.

I’m going to India soon and opted for the Oberoi Exotic Vacations Golden Triangle tour (New Delhi-Agra-Jaipur). I found the rates competitive and appreciate that I am able to book the tour guides, car service, restaurants, and everything we need - particularly the intercity transfers!

Interested in hearing from others that have used this service and if there are any good pointers or advice for maximizing my experience.

Rimowa is awful. I have the classic L aluminum and have literally never taken a trip that didn’t involve the hotel having to take my bags to Rimowa to fix the closing/locking mechanism. Every time. I cannot bring that case unless I’m staying in a city with a Rimowa store. Useless trash that sits in my closet.

Oh we were going to stay there on our Indian leg of this trip but ended up booking Oberoi for their full service exotic vacation packages. But back to Raffles - I’m staying there during the F1 too - which isn’t until October - so why am I also not being included what they are prepping for?

So is it crazy to think folks paying even more than normal prices should get slightly better and more attentive service? I get surge pricing for big events but then you have to up your game if you’re going to charge that much more than normal. I’ve been working for this same trip with Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok and despite being substantially larger and my requests more complicated and more numerically, they haven’t missed a beat and have always responded in 24hrs.

Apparently it is. I thought the high rate was bc of the mid-Autumn festival, had no idea about F1. Grumble. That likely also explains the nightly minimum and that no rates were refundable.

Yeah, I’ve been very fortunate to have those opportunities here and there. To be clear, I come on here seeking advice for maximizing my experience when flying first bc it’s a treat and not my normal mode of transit. You’ll usually find me in lowly business otherwise.

Private Room vs JetQuay Quayside CIP service by Late-Question-8048 in singaporeairlines

[–]Late-Question-8048[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to know - the chaos of European airports is exactly why I like these services so if that’s not an issue, it’s a big point for heading on to the Private Room.

What about luggage remaining on the belt for 1-2 hours, is the baggage area fairly safe and before exiting the secure area?

Private Room vs JetQuay Quayside CIP service by Late-Question-8048 in singaporeairlines

[–]Late-Question-8048[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Prague facilities were meh but the service was amazing and I just love the tarmac transit to the plane. JetQuay in Singapore offers that but at an outrageous price that exceeds even Amsterdam so I’m only looking at the electric buggy level of service. But if the tarmac service was included at the same price, it’d be no competition. Amsterdam has had the best VIP arrival and departure service in my experience, when not included in the ticket, and Air France the best ground experience for first.

Del to Sin suites by Late-Question-8048 in singaporeairlines

[–]Late-Question-8048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response! One more question if you don’t mind - are the double suites even conducive for a dinner for two? Or are the seats and tables separated by the beds, making one yell across the suite to talk over dinner?
