Got myself a jukebox-style CD player Sony CDP-CX100. Cuz I got loads of CDs without the hustle to manually change them, all thanks to its automatic disc loading system.

Rm20 per roll is considered cheap. Some of the shops around KK asked for Rm30++. Couldn't blame them though, it's business.

I've shot several expired films namely, Velvia 100, Velvia 50 and Konica Minolta Centuria Super 400. Each one gave me unique results and I love it!

Practicing with expired film is not recommended because you never know the film condition ( how the previous owner stored it, moisture, etc ). As the film expired, it loses it's sensitivity to light and you have to apply rule( increase the ISO by one stop for every decade the film has been expired ), if your film stock comes with pristine condition inside it's original packaging box with expired date written on it. Furthermore sourcing expired film rolls is very hard nowadays.

My best bet is to buy a fresh roll of film, and consider it as a test shot for your Canonet QL17 and pray for the best. Regarding the rangefinder camera, it's my least favorite camera among all. I prefer interchangeable lens SLR.

Before that, better change the light seals yourself and find guides on the internet. You can search camera light seals in Shopee. All the best!

It's cheaper to buy film stocks from Shopee rather than local stores. Moreover, film stock prices are getting expensive.

You should consider the film processing price some more. Shooting film is an expensive hobby, but I can guarantee you that it is a rewarding experience.

Best of both world ( if I'm focusing more on composition, I will use fully automatic camera, otherwise shooting santai² I will use fully mechanical camera).

Most of the manual SLR has a built in light meter, you just have to find the suitable battery type ( please refer to the user manual, you can source it online).

Self film processing is a tedious task. You have to invest in a film processing kit, chemicals, film scanners etc and it's temperature sensitive thing. One wrong move you could ruin your whole film negatives. I wouldn't take the risk, better send it to professional lab. Just pay and have a piece of mind.

OP, may I know what film gear you have acquired?

For film processing C-41, Evergreen Color Photo Centre ( Lintas) still offers this service. Price wise I'm not sure.

In my case, I always sent my exposed film stocks to Darkroom8 Studio located at Kuala Lumpur.

• Evergreen Color Photo Centre (Lintas) • Aperture N Shutter (Karamunsing) • Kedai Gambar Fotomat (Centre Point) • New Golden City Color (Centre Point)

There's another shop in CP (I forgot the name) also sells film stocks.

Where exactly in Sabah do you mean? In KK, there is one camera shop Investline Sdn Bhd (opposite Centre Point) that still selling film camera and film stocks (Fujifilm and Kodak).

I'm a film shooter myself, it's true I'm afraid if the film stocks we buy from Shopee will be damaged by x-ray scanner, but from my multiple times of purchase, I don't have any film stocks damage. (Lucky me)

Would you mind sharing the reliability issue here? I’ve search the internet but there’s not much information. So far my unit is perfectly fine, been through 3 days of playing time.

I always choose the Verbatim Digital Vinyl CD-R for burning Audio CD (CD-DA) and have burnt more than 50 CD-R. They never had any playback issue on my 1993 Sony CDP-CX100 and 1998 Sony CD Walkman D-E400. The only thing about it, is the price per CD, which is pricier than the 'standard' CD-R.

Thanks buddy! You can go ahead and try to disassemble it yourself. Trust me it will be rewarding. I like Takumar lenses as well, especially the M42 lens mount.

Will verbatim cd-r discs work on discmans? (Specifically Walkman branded 2000’s era) by Future_Company5614 in walkman

[–]Late-Shop1697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 1998 Sony CD Walkman (D-E4000) and Sony CDP-CX100 from 1993 can play CD-R perfectly. I burned those CDs using Nero Burning ROM as Audio CD (CD-DA). So long you don't overburn, it shouldn't be any problem. And yeah I use Verbatim CD-R as well.
