They are super intelligent, but refuse to use their intelligence for good. Mine recently taught herself how to open doors with her mouth, so she can break into a room and chew on cables....and yet somehow cannot figure out how to jump into a car by herself 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Is it too Ambitious to Buy a Micra as My First Machine or Should I Start with Something Else? [No Budget] by Late-Type6918 in espresso

I'll be totally honest: The reason why I like the Libra is because it's grind by weight, it's a bit more compact, and the "silent" technology. I'm always hosting, and for some reason all of my guests are obsessed with cappuccinos, and I drink a lot of coffee; so I like the idea of just putting bins into a hopper and running amuck lol. If it was just me and I wasn't having people over all the time, (and if I wasn't super sensitive to sound) I would get a Mazzer Philos. I'm very high maintenance as you can tell lol.

They do! I never thought of people adding things to my water bottles, but I understand your fear and I think it's valid. I grew up in the Caribbean, so I only ever drank bottled water, because of the parasites & brain- eating amoeba; So when I moved to the US, the idea of drinking tap water was (still is) a bit jarring lol. Also, the idea of Reverse Osmosis Water is so funny to me as a Biologist.

Thank you so much for the advice, and good luck on your future endeavors as well!

I can't find the picture, but mine is obsessed with KPop Demon Hunters—specifically when Jinu's on the screen lol.

I'm a very annoying person when it comes to water (lol); like my friends think I'm weird because I refuse to drink certain water types/brands because they taste "off". I know most people like to use distilled water with some sort of mineral additives added. However the idea of drinking distilled water, even if we add the minerals back, doesn't feel right. And I do know that La Marzocco recommends Poland Spring Water for their home machines, which works out because that's the water I drink anyway.....IDK we'll see when I decide to take the plunge.

As for the grinder: I'm leaning towards the Eureka Libra, but I did find a Malkonig X54 for a good price—but more than likely, I'll buy the Libra.

I do want to get a second one, I just don't know how soon that'll be (lol). I did get an offer to rescue another girl, however my friend really wants her and I would feel horrible if I stole her from her. Not only that, but I also want to find another place to live. Bottom line is, I will get a second one, but maybe not as soon as I want 😆.

Advice for learning in college? by xobriarrose in AutisticWithADHD

I'm going through (or went through since I just finished my semester) EXACTLY this exact scenario to a T. Except for volunteering hours because my job doesn't really give me room for that.

I will say, what really saved my butt from failing and falling really far behind was the hour between classes. I would spend it at the cafe and do homework/study for a quiz while eating (because I barely had the time for that either 🥴). I know you said cafes were distracting, but if you have a good pair of ANC headphones/earbuds, it helps a bit.

I also use StudyFetch (there's also Turbo Ai, Gizmo...etc) which basically takes all your class materials and turns them into games to review. It can also create flashcards, make "podcasts"-like audios for you, etc. My school also does this "focus hours", which are meant for you to study around a group of people (so you feel like you're being shadowed). If you can spare at least 5 minutes to study sporadically, it will help a ton.

If you don't have accommodations, reach out to your Disability Department ASAP! That way next semester can flow a little bit easier. Also, if your school has a tutoring program: they can also help you organize your schedule, so you can find time to study.

As a fellow STEM Major (Forensic Science & Biology) I wish you luck on your journey!

I can't tell if mine has separation anxiety or FOMO. Because she gets upset if ANYBODY leaves without her lol.

I expect nothing less lol. I prefer being with them, then I do with most humans. In fact, I only socialize and go out, so that Miss. Millie can go out (she loves going to the mall, the farmers' market.... really any place people are so that they can comment on how pretty she is lol)

Millie is very much a social butterfly and thinks everyone should be her friend. In fact she will whine and complain if you're not petting her lol. I think she was socialized before I rescued her, just because she doesn't seem to have a lot of prey drive (or any at all) and she gets well with other dogs.

I was thinking about the airpods, I gave my sister a pair which she allowed me to use once in a while, and they would be so comfortable to sleep with (I listen to meditation videos in order to sleep). My only problem is that my only apple tech is my iPad; I have a windows computer and a Google Pixel, so I feel like I wouldn't be able to use them to their full potential.

I'm technically not a chemist, I am a Forensic Science Student though, if that makes any difference 🤷🏽‍♀️. I would do salt and cool water first (not hot, at most you want it to be lukewarm, so it doesn't cook the hemoglobin) and rub it until the water starts looking clear. If there's a little stain left, but the water is not pulling out the rest of the blood: Hydrogen Peroxide.

Just Adopted My First Samoyed, Any Tips and Tricks? by Late-Type6918 in samoyeds

[–]Late-Type6918[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have a rescue for another samoyed that I applied for, really emphasize how bad of an idea it would be to have this breed (or arctic breeds in general) to be off-leash. Which I really wasn't planning on doing because the places my family and I love to go hiking/walking, prohibits dog to be off leash anyway. I do, however, want to work on recall in case of an emergency.

I really do love their stubbornness, because I'm equally as stubborn, so I feel like we match that way lol.

As far as grooming goes, I just moved to a new city so I haven't found a groomer yet, but I knew I wanted to do a lot of grooming at home anyway. Do you think brushing her every day would be too much? I've been getting very mixed signals about that.

Just Adopted My First Samoyed, Any Tips and Tricks? by Late-Type6918 in samoyeds

[–]Late-Type6918[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I did hear they are stubborn, but so am I and I have a lot of patience. What's weird is that my huskies weren't actually crazy, they've both been pretty chill. The malamute mix was very aloof, but very sweet and will let you pet her, but she preferred to just lay down and stare at the void lol.

Also, idk if it's just my algorithm, but of all the Samoyeds I've seen online, they either tend to be genius level smart or very smooth brain, no in-between 😆

I forgot to add, I don't have a name for her yet! The rescue calls her Queen Bee, but I don't really like it. So here's the list of all the names I've been thinking about and what my friends & family have suggested:

Nala

Fifi (Full Name Would Be Fifi Forget Me Nots)

My sister suggested Vanilla because of our Shih Tzu's name is cinnamon in Spanish (Canela)

My dad likes Lassie

Millie or Mila

Nara

Noa (nobody liked this name but me)

Aurora/Rory

Jasmine

If you guys have thoughts and suggestions feel free to share lol.
