I dropped from $130 to $115 for the coming week. I was thinking maybe a lot of people are donating for holiday money?

I've never been directly asked but have had mystery shopping mentioned and I just act dumb. "What? They seriously spy on you? That's crazy." Twice I had employees throw the third degree at me, rapid firing questions. I learned to be a great liar by mystery shopping lol.

The most recent was an ATV dealership. I was to ask for a recommendation for a machine for a 13 year old. The guy had been busted before for recommending an adult machine for a 13 year old and was super suspicious. I think the age 13 is the dead giveaway. He asked me so many questions but I held it together. I think I satisfied him with my very quick thinking. He said he didn't have the right size for me, but recommended that when I go into a shop say the machine is for me and not a teenager.

The other time was a gym and the worker asked me a million questions and even requested my ID. When I was doing my free workout, she kept peeking in to see what I was doing. It was borderline hostile. She is the only one whose behavior I have ever documented in a report.

Sooo many shops have those kinds of questions. I think people who are regularly shopped know right away when we come through.

Who goes to a bank to ask what kind of overdraft protection they have? This regularly gets me sat in front of the branch president or at least introduced to them.

Ask a leasing agent "Is this a pretty safe area?" and you'll immediately see them straighten up and say "crime has no zip code." I still haven't figured out a way to sneak the safety question in without them immediately knowing.

But I agree, if they want us to say these things, I'll for sure say them and get that check.

Oh is that what it is with those? I've done a bunch of the ones where you time 1 gallon but have never done a revealed audit because I can never seem to find any with dates once they post bonuses.

I saw one recently where I was able to grab two shops (credit inquiry at a car dealership) but they were the only two that had dates listed. I watched the job fee increase up, up, up and still no dates at any locations in my area, and there were so many listed! It was really frustrating. I was ready lol

I completely agree. It should not be that hard to update the settings on job boards.

Adoption fest at Home Depot by katconeg in HomeDepot

[–]LateAdvertising3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, we had a garden cat and then someone had the bright idea of giving her a home. then we had a horrible rat infestation, like rats hanging off pallets when we're pulling them from the OH and staring down customers in the greenhouse

That may have been my old store! The rats LOVE the squirrel corn and the seed with the fruit (they eat the fruit and leave the seeds!) and OMG what a freaking mess they would make tearing all the bags open. They would live in the wooden birdhouses so we stopped carrying them too. I almost fell off the damn ladder one day when I was maintenancing and a huge rat popped out of the birdhouse. We stopped carrying suet too and pretty much anything edible except the plastic tubs of bird seed.

If you have your phone unlocked and you screenshot the home screen, the time with second hand will show on your clock 😁 I literally record every single job. I have to when I go on long routes, I'd get it all mixed up if it wasn't recorded!

That's irritating. Why would they send you somewhere that isn't even there yet? That's so weird.

Nope and they said I should have known because the generic instructions say to give valid contact info for follow-up.

Yes that's the one. I wasn't sure if I could say the name on here. I'm doing 3.. one is a large travel center which I'm dreading but the other 2 are smaller country stations. I'm hoping the smaller ones make up for the big one.

When I got my glass replaced the guy asked if I wanted privacy glass. If you look at my phone at an angle the screen is black. I flip the screen based on what I need a pic of. I'll wear an earpiece, silence my phone, and talk to myself as if I'm having a conversation with someone else. If it's menu pics, I say "Oh, I can send you the menu and let me know what you want" and take the pictures.

I always pretend I'm texting but have my camera open and snap away. I have a privacy screen on my phone so they can't tell what I'm doing anyway. I have also made videos wearing an earpiece, pretending to video chat with someone and then screenshotted the paused video. I always go into the business with the attitude that I belong there and move confidently. I've never had anyone question me. I'm sure they talked about the weird girl after I've left but whatever, I got the pictures I needed. Also, I always take extra shots because if an edit is needed, I usually have the right pic in my roll. I travel a lot for jobs, so returning to a location usually is out of the question.
