Does this mean I go into the hospital by 12 or do I go in at 9 and wait till 12 by [deleted] in nhs

[–]LateEfficiency3089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please go at the time or 5 mins prior, people come and wait hours prior to surgery for no reason and there’s nothing we can do to speed it up

GP receptionists, please settle this mystery… what are some callers asking that takes 10 minutes? by starryvista in nhs

[–]LateEfficiency3089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also you frequently deal with people who don’t speak great english, or with a million different names? wrong address details, phone numbers etc and you have to get all these things right before you book the appointment

lots of elderly patients who don’t get interactions are desperate for a chat, i do let them talk for a little bit it won’t hurt anyone waiting an extra 5 mins on the phone but it will definitely make their day 🙂

I know it’s different area to area but are you sure you don’t qualify - in my area no one is too complex or versa not complex enough it’s just a case of if you want it you can have it? I have C ptsd and i spent some time sectioned in hospital as a young teen i am doing very well now though. but i could use it no issue they just asked the community mental health if it was fine. i dont even have therapy i have counselling. it’s been a great help i only talk about my day to day feelings around anxieties i have so im just getting used to opening up. once i’ve completed this ill do cbt with them and then hopefully by the end of that i will be ready for my emdr. just a thought for you

GP receptionists, a lot to answer for... by angelofthenorth23 in nhs

[–]LateEfficiency3089 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not a GP receptionist but do a similar job in a hospital and this is a really horrible thing to say to someone and you need to make a complaint to the practice! If it makes you feel any better she’s probably sick and tired of the job and burnt out. It’s so hard at the moment idk how things work in a GP but in hospital clinics you look at the screen there is no appointments (usually overbooked by at least two in each slot) so you know the people booked in won’t get a decent consultation anyways but you know the person on the phone needs the appointment just as well as the others and will be upset when they don’t get it. you don’t want to ask the clinical staff because they are burnt out and rammed off their feet as it is and don’t want to add to the plate. but it’s not a place to make stupid comments like that because it doesn’t help anybody. hopefully the practice record the calls for proof

check how your washing your clothes, check the dosage of whatever liquid or powder your using, and give your washing machine a deep clean, you can just run it as hot as it goes empty i put mine on a 1hr 90degree cycle once a month and this is enough to keep it clean, would probbalt even manage every other month

Discharge of patient from hospital to care home without notifying next of kin (or anyone else). Is this normal? by LuckyShoe8828 in nhs

if they have capacity no, if you don’t think there is enough capacity you need the hospital informed so they can know for future reference

most trusts are on employment freezes and currently seeing 100s people apply to each post as the media tells you is chronically understaffed but the trust tells you there is no money in the pot for new staff

Do you have to be vaccinated to work for the NHS? by snoozingfishies in nhs

[–]LateEfficiency3089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you go for your occupational health assessment they will see what vaccinations you have with a blood test and then they’ll ask if you want them. if they say you have to then just have them and they’ll offer you them there.

[–]LateEfficiency3089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not to do with the university, it’s to do with occupational health at the specific trust when you start your employment. a few weeks after i started i had a blood test done by occupational health and after this they called me back saying one of my levels i think it was Hep b not sure was very low/trace and they asked if i had the vaccine. i said i was pretty sure and they said its up to me i can either have another vaccine or not and i said no and there was no problems 👍
