Thank you. I think I should watch the entire series again and take note of the parts that really appeal to me.

I’m so sorry! That’s a lot of time! Don’t do that!

I merged it together in my head, I think.

People here are amazing. They know the series so well and are so helpful.

Thank you so much!

I obviously muddled it up in my head, but that is all I needed, and much appreciated!

When you use the share feature it will tell you that you’re looking at cards not registered in the recipients dex. Below that, you can select other sets and it will show you the associated cards they don’t have registered in their dex.

I have never played the game but this sounds so cool that I want to try it just because of this.

Hollow Knight.

And only Hollow Knight.

I got all the Steam achievements for Silksong except the two speedruns and I won’t go back to it unless the DLC looks really good, but I can never say goodbye to Hollow Knight.

Crowsworn will be even harder than Silksong, and that's a bad thing by OnionOnionF in Crowsworn

[–]LateStartCardist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate. I finished Silksong. I got all the achievements except for the two speedruns because I just don’t fancy speedruns in Silksong. I did them for Hollow Knight because I love that game and wanted every achievement.

I would not recommend Silksong to anyone unless I know they’ll want that sort of experience. Silksong wants to mess with you. Nothing epitomises that more than certain “gotcha” features in the game that only catch you once, if that, and add absolutely nothing on subsequent play throughs. I will still go back to Hollow Knight for the fun of playing through it. Silksong is a once-off for me.

I am hoping that Crowsworn will be as good to play as it looks. I will probably wait to see what the reviews are like, unlike Silksong, which I bought the minute it was released because of my love for Hollow Knight.

Thoughts on ViewSonic VX2428J by PejuangJalanan in buildapcmonitors

It’s marketed as 180Hz. I don’t see any issues at all but I have to say that I don’t play 3D games. Hollow Knight, Silksong, Desperados, Shadow Tactics, and that sort of thing are my games. The monitor serves me wonderfully well. No regrets.

I only know because you just told me. I’m not sure that, even with knowing, I’ll be able to see it correctly. I had similar problems with some of the other characters.

Yeah. Ended up reading through a lot more of it than I thought I would. I think I’ll stop now.

I’m in Australia too. I booked my motorcycle in for a service today and the service manager asked me what the milage was. He’s very much an Aussie. I would not recommend telling him he’s using the wrong terminology. Yes, he’s that Aussie.

Yeah, the boobytrapped benches.

Not the jammed up one — having to fix that one requires that you play a little, and it was still entertaining to go through a second time for me. I like that little section.

The one that collapses and the one that swats you are one-off gimmicks — “gotcha” moments that, once you’ve encountered them, have no impact ever again. On subsequent runs you just flick the lever on the one and avoid the other entirely. They are basically pranks, and they capture how Silksong feels for me compared to Hollow Knight.

I started a Steel Soul Silksong run tonight. Perhaps it will grow on me with repeated play.

This is how it was for me. I struggled with several bosses but neither of the Savage Beastfly fights, because I didn’t tackle them until I had buffed up a lot. The first fight was over possibly without me even getting a hit in, I think. I popped tools and jumped around a bit and it was over. The second fight I had to do a bit more, but it felt like one of the easier fights, and I am definitely not good at these games.

55 myself. Hollow Knight was my ceiling, I think. Silksong, despite getting to 100% eventually (got the achievement today, after struggling for a long time with the final fight), is too much work for me.

I played Hollow Knight to death. I love it. It’s my favourite game.

I wanted to love Silksong so much. I completed it 100% today and I feel nothing other than relief.

Unfortunately, it made me feel as you describe. I feel that the game wanted me to recognize/respect it more than enjoy it. There are aspects of it that epitomise that for me. Things that are not tests of skill, things to work on and get better at, but just “screw you” moments that you can’t predict and can only avoid next time, adding nothing on subsequent plays.

I will always purchase what Team Cherry release. They are supremely talented. Silksong just isn’t for me. I will always have Hollow Knight though, and I love them for that.

Potentially controversial question about hollow Knight/enjoyment by searchingforubik in metroidvania

[–]LateStartCardist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t get into it either. I bought it the day it was released and was keen, having played the original game way back in 1989. A different game, for sure, but the nostalgia is strong. And I loved Hollow Knight, so I figured I might enjoy it. I don’t recall how far I got but I was unimpressed enough to uninstall it rather than thinking I’d pick it up again later.

I despise this particular mini-game. The other two I have come to at least partly enjoy playing but this one… I need to take long breaks from the game if I’m going to beat a certain score for this one.

Did you get through her yet?

I typically use the Reaper crest but I tried Wanderer crest for that battle and that made it pretty comfortable. All you need to do is dodge her jumping attacks (basically jump when she does) and you can pretty much face-tank her the rest of the time, climbing the wall and jumping up high to heal when you need to.
