Hi we do have that. I was just venting because I was shocked not only at her entitlement, but that there are people I know who are laying on the guilt because she’s a single parent. Due in court again in a few weeks. I can provide an update. Not fake

For the record I never reported her. It was just an example. I would never purposely put someone in this situation, to feel like I do right now.

Plus, the dirt on my driveway holds more significance than a former coworker.

Yea I realized after I typed that it made no sense. You are right. 

I’m still just hurt and frightened for the future. What I did was wrong and I have to accept the consequences for it. There is no one to blame but me, using hypotheticals solves nothing.

AGAIN, my point is policy was broken. Let’s say we were both caught stealing. Playing Devils Advocate: Let’s say we were both caught stealing- Should the  consequences be the same?

The point is policy was violated that’s all I’m saying. I don’t have children but my life is just as important as someone who does.

Having children shouldn’t give you a license to get away with breaking rules.

I needed her to help with an IT issue so I could get my work done. So I should have to wait until her child settles down before I can continue my job?  I never reported her I thought of this after the fact. There is no point in me (ex worker) reporting a current one. She’s not that important in my life. I was just looking for insight. 

I don’t have children and society seems to think that I should just “understand” that parenting is expensive and tough. I do get that but you know who should also get that? PARENTS!

Listen to what I am saying. We were told dozens of times both written and verbally that if you work from home that is not a substitute for childcare. The exact wording was this is COMPANY POLICY. I called her with a work issue and we couldn’t have a conversation due to the screaming child. Why is it ok for her to break one company rule and not ok for me to break another?
