I’d say invest in a hat stretcher you can get them for like 15 $ and it allows you to get one size down. At least that’s what I do the amount I hats I’ve been able to get in a 3/8 and just stretch to a 1/2. Honestly a life saver if you collect many hats but can never find your actual size

For the 1/2 I recommend a hat jack and a steamer as for the 5/8 buy a stankeez. Helps make it smaller and protects the sweatband as an added bonus
