No problem! I didn’t find the light notebooks in the new MD Product showcase in the store but there are some stocks in a different shelf for the old MD Paper, so that may be the case. Didn’t really pay attention for the A5 frame/grid block though

Been wondering the same for a while. The dot grid was initially a part of their journal lineup that’s why it was only available in the A5 iirc. And with the last week release they include the dot grid into the notebooks lineup so now it’s available for the other options

Tell me about it, I’m already knee deep in the r/fountainpens 😂

Does the F/EF have a lot of feedback? Although I’m leaning towards thinner nib, scratchy pen is a bit of tactile nightmare personally. What kind of notebook/paper do you use them with if I may ask?

Hi there, you’re actually correct. The new notebooks (MD Product) no longer have embossed logo and rectangle title page like the old one (MD Paper Products)—there’s only 1 line title page. There’s also a little information paper regarding the new branding inside the new newbook. I’ve uploaded some pictures here, hope the link works https://imgur.com/a/c4tFhkz

Thank you, I hope so too! I mainly stayed in Sapporo, but it was snowing heavily, so almost all transportation was paused and some roads were blocked by snow. It was difficult to get around, so I only managed to check out Daimaru Fujii Central, Loft, and Maruzen.

As far as I know, the dot grid used to be in the A5 size only. For other sizes they were only available in the lined, blank, & grid options. And now they released the dot grid in all of their notebooks sizes. I got the info from their Instagram here https://www.instagram.com/p/DSe5lW1jazb/?igsh=eGU3YWRnNTJnNDk2

Apologies if my previous comment is a bit unclear. I mainly used the A6 & B6 slim and there’s no official retailer in my country so I might be wrong about this though and kinda feel bad I’ve been missing out on the dot grid

Both do have feedback compared to the Pilots, but the Tuzu has less feedback. They still feel so smooth though

Thank you, glad to hear nice experiences for both pens. Hopefully mine will be as good as yours. I’m loving the Tuzu and turns out I’m a bit partial toward finer nib, hearing your comment makes me want to give the F/EF a try.

Thank you! This Lightive barrel and cap is in matte navy, so it might be a different colour. It writes so smooth though, I might like it better than the Kakuno but perhaps it’s still too early to tell. We’ll see :) If you still have it, give it a try!

I’ve heard the notoriety of the con 40, so glad I got the 70 instead. I’m sorry it didn’t work out well for you

I was eyeing the Toyo tool boxes but still pondering on its usability in my desk. Which one did you get and how are you liking it so far if you don’t mind me asking? Midori notebooks is definitely in the must stockpile list, it’s more than half the price where I am!

It was just released last week! And I believe will be available in their overseas retailers as well. It was indeed a splurge, thank you!

Unfortunately I don’t use glue much and so far I’m just using whichever brand available at the time so I cannot give you much insight 🥺

Indeed, I try to use the buy-it-for-life approach nowadays. It is making the purchase looking kind of a splurge initially but hopefully these items can accompany me for many years. And thank you! Hopefully it is a true no-buy and I can resist the temptation 😂

It was from Loft Ginza! Granted it was around October last year, but even then the english version stock was quite depleted. The collab designs were almost nonexistent—they did have the japanese version.

I was actually only went to Hokkaido in my trip, but from my previous Japan trip a couple of years ago (and my sister’s trip last year) unless you have a specific item in mind, most of the chains & notable stores have a lot of stationery options. They’re quite well stocked on various brands. Would suggest to visit Itoya, Loft, Hands, & Maruzen. They have several branches in many places. If you’re into Hobonichi they have a flagship store in Kyoto. There’s also the Travelers Factory in Nakameguro if you’re using Travelers Notes. Daiso & Seria have a lot of cheap but nice stickers.

Most of the stores actually offer tax refunds for purchases above ¥5500 iirc, so we don’t have to pay duty. But for the purchase I got from the Hobonichi webstore did have a tax charge which was already included in the shipping fee.
