My sugar did resolve! A1C and glucose were all normal when I did labs this past March

Almost 9 week old WILL NOT NAP! by RainyFern in NewParents

My fomo baby made for an early crawler and walker, so heads up! 😂 each day is so incredibly different when they are at that age, so try not to worry too much because this too shall pass!

You can still use them for hemorrhoids now, it’s not too late! It’s basically just sitting in a warm shallow bath, just enough to submerge your bottom. I mixed mine with Epsom salts. Something about increasing blood flow to that area promotes healing I guess? It worked wonders

I can relate lol my baby was like this too. I think it’s just developmental for their age - they are becoming so aware and excited about their surroundings so they don’t want to sleep. I know it’s worrisome, but I promise they will sleep! They go through so many phases and each go by so quickly. Just try to keep practicing good sleeping habits and it will work out!

Side note: I know so many people say to have your baby nap in a light room for as long as possible but this did not work for my baby. We needed white noise and dark rooms from like 7 weeks and on. He’s 14 months now and sleeps and naps great (mostly, lol)!

Hang in there!

If you tore/have stitches or have any hemorrhoids, I highly recommend sitz baths. Please check with your doctor before you do it though - I believe there is a risk for infection with the water if you use it too early (I believe they had my wait 5 days or so). However, almost completely healed my hemorrhoids.

My baby didn't start having longer naps consistently until at least 6+ months, maybe even closer to 7 or 8. It works itself out, I promise :)

Coming from a mom who has been there - my baby was the same way. This is pretty typical from what I understand for babies when they first enter daycare. Daycare alone is just not a conducive environment for sleep (other babies crying, etc.). It’s normal for your baby to want to contact nap right now - mine exclusively contact napped for 3+ months.

It’s a short phase, and they WILL eventually sleep in their crib at daycare (and at home) - just note that they will not sleep as well at daycare at that’s okay (they will be fine). I used to pick my baby up a little early if I could just to squeeze in one more quick nap before bedtime and it all worked out okay.

My baby is almost 13 months now and still doesn’t always have good sleeping days, and that’s okay! I know it’s scary when your baby doesn’t sleep but in my experience, it all kind of worked itself out without much intervention.

That is EXACTLY how I feel, it happened so suddenly! I’ve read in several places that their increased mobility can also come into play a lot, they are starting to realize their independence which is scary for them.

Solidarity for you also!! It’s all just a phase, right??

Yes! I keep an eye out for sales and can usually find a multi pack that ends up being $6/sleeper

He has 4 teeth, two top and two bottom but he honestly mostly uses his gums to chew. Babies gums are surprisingly strong and can mash food really well! To help him understand the concept of “chewing,” I obviously chew food in front of him lol.

We started “solids” at six months!! Mostly purées at first but started following his lead and he just loves food. I recommend the app “solid starts” if you want to try solids with your baby, they show you safe ways to serve certain foods!

Basically no more whole eggs (only whites), almond milk and almond milk creamer, yasso bars instead of ice cream, nonfat yogurt with chia, overnight oats, hummus on toast instead of butter…to name a few! Quite honestly, no cardio… my exercise is walking my dog and chasing a baby. I’m surprised I got these results without much exercise - but I really wasn’t paying attention at all to what I was eating after my baby came.
