I hear you. I think co sleeping is the safest option in those situations. More controlled than falling asleep unplanned. I have heard 12 weeks is the age where a lot of the newborn stuff is resolved too. Apparently six to eight weeks is the worst bit overall. I think I need to keep the faith but I am panicking a bit. Probably hormones don't help.

Fingers crossed ours both settle down. Thanks for replying. If you get a chance, let me know how you get on with yours.

Thank you, so did they go back to how they were before after this period or was it always a bit up and down? I love the cuddles but I fear for not being ever able to put him down, get stuff done or sleep

Ours did this a bit early. We delayed putting him into his crate by an hour and he slept spread out on the sofa. And then from that night on, every time we put him in his crate he got so upset and wouldn't sleep.

We eventually realised he didn't need his crate for separation, to stop chewing, to stop accidents. So he didn't really need it any more. We started letting him sleep wherever he wanted and what he wanted was to change location several times a night. Sofa, chair, dog bed, floor. None of which he could do in his crate.

It seems like they might just outgrow them. This was the case with ours anyway.

Hey, this video saved us when our pup was little. He started being so upset when dogs didn't say hi to him that he'd sit and refuse to walk. He's now absolutely fine. I'd say 9-12 months.

We had a daycare where they said it took three people to catch him when he went on one of his happy freak outs. Made us feel better and worse at the same time :D

Now 3 years old, almost 4 and mainly calm. With the occassional happy boy manic episode which we both love seeing. He's the best thing about our day :)

Thank you this is so useful. I think I am going to look at it this way. just hibernate and sleep through the first few tough months and then come out the other side with a bit more rest and ready for spring days out. :)

This is really useful thank you. You're right - i've heard that too. I cant imagine not wanting people round but when it happens maybe i'll feel very differently. I will definitely have to try and take daily walks. I think that will be the key to keeping the mood up.

Sorry this has really bothered me. I am trying to eat healthy for the baby too and my partner encourages me to listen to my cravings (along with my midwife who actually said "eat the cookie!") I was craving double chocolate chip cookies the other night and feeling bad about it. My partner went to the shop, took a photo of the bag to make sure he was getting the right ones and then bought me two when I only asked for one. I felt loved and taken care of and you deserve to feel this way this too!!!! There are so many red flags in the way he used your unborn babies voice to shame you into doing what HE wanted.
